Didn't Iwobi have a great game against this lot last time out; first glimpse there might actually be a player in there.

....wouldn’t be surprised to see Richarlison go on a little goalscoring run. It often happens following a drought and will be timely given DCLs expected absence.

King will surely start, this is why he was brought in. Never noticed Allan in the pre-match training video, despite Ancelotti saying he’d be ready for this one.
Carlo confirmed Allan still out for this one

He did playing wing back. We played 3 at the back, looked very good 1st half but was under the cosh for a good portion of the 2nd half. Tom come on that game as steadied the ship for the last 15 minutes.

I think we're at the point where gaps are starting to open up in this group of 8/9 that seemed to only be separated by a handful of points earlier on in the season and finally the top half of the league is starting to take something like the shape it will be in at the end of the season.

Winning today would suggest we might have the consistency to be one of the sides challenging for 4th/5th (Leicester, Liverpool, Spurs, United, Chelsea) rather than 7th (West Ham, Villa, Arsenal, Leeds) and would put us right in the CL conversation for now at least.

It's for that reason I don't think it's unreasonable for an Evertonian to be fully expecting anything but 3 points here.
Another massive opportunity, especially with the results yesterday. A win puts us level with the scum with 2 in hand, 1 above Chelsea & Moyesy with 1 in hand, 4 above Spurs game in hand, 4 above Villa.
Dont see top 4 coming from anyone outside that, think tbh top3 is gone for us so its a battle to stay above these lot.

TECHNICALLY we DO have the squad for it. Issue is that about 80% of the rest of the "squad" is utter crap and wouldn't be called on unless we literally have no other options.
Well that's just not true is it. At least 4 of those squad players played in the win over a star studded Spurs team, and 2 of them were the games outstanding talents.

The fact is we've reached 2 cup quarter finals, are still in with a shout of top four and have lost just 1 league game against the top 7 all season, despite being seriously hit by injuries to some of our best players. You don't do that if you have crap squad players. Sorry you just don't

They're certainly proving (against my expectations) that they are not a hopeless squad. I'd still venture that they are a "not quite there yet" squad. Still weak in a couple of areas IMO.

I know we seem to say this before every game now but this nondescript fuxture really is a statement game.

We need to step up and win this to take advantage of the weekend’s results for Spurs and the RS and show we are deffnite contenders for a top four place.

Then we have a free hit versus City in midweek before going on to The Pit on Saturday.

Indeed, Barney.

Despite what many of us on here, myself included, have said about our squad quality and depth, the fringe players have really stepped up for the most part and are giving us the first enjoyable season in what seems like ages.

Great chance to get amongst the top 4 debate today.... test of nerve. A win today would see us level on points with 4th and with 2 games in hand still. Those 2 games are City at home and Villa away.

So does our season potentially rest on 3 games, for the moment at least? Our leagues games in hand and the FA Cup Qtr final which are City at home, Villa away and City at home... TBH that is quite tough but I would rather be challenging at this end of the table than the other.

He said Friday he wouldn't make this one but hopefully next week's games

Have to go out and boss this from the first minute. Maybe not risk Rodriquez from the starr if he is carrying a knock but put Richi central, King and Iwobi either side and Siggy behind
