Yes, and Tarkowski knew the ball was coming down so he is supposed to make an effort to challenge for it, rather than backing into where the keeper will be and playing for what happened. Probably would have been let go if it was in midfield and if it was a defender rather than the keeper, tbf.

I can absolutely fault him for playing Maupay. The rest he’s gotten spot on.

Who else can he play? Cant start DCL, McNeil, or Danjuma, so his only other option is yesterdays 19 year old signing.

The difference is, Iwobi is not a striker. His job is to drive into space and take the ball up the pitch, create and pass the ball off. Take a few pops. He’s done all that, unlucky to not do better with the shot he did take. Maupay has one job, to finish the move and score. He’s had plenty of chances and not done it. Take your agenda out of it for a second and it’s clear that Iwobi is having a good game relative to what we need him to do
