Our best hope here is for a set piece goal, a Fulham implosion, or an act of God.

If we do somehow win this, surely it'll be by 1-0. Tarko from a corner and a backs-to-the-wall effort to keep a drifting, on-the-beach Fulham out.

A boy can dream.

Love you talking about needing evidence for an opinion and then posting this.

Three of our last four goals have not been from set pieces.

Why do you need evidence to be optimistic ?

Very odd comment.

An optimistic outlook is scientifically linked to being better for your mental and physical health. Seeing as it’s football and not a life or death situation I’m not sure why you would not choose to be optimistic about it.
Ah, you're choosing to be blindly optimistic. Fair enough.

In matters of prediction, such as with football matches, I tend to prefer a little evidence before being optimistic or pessimistic. I differentiate between being optimistic and being hopeful. Overall, in matters of mental health, I think it's better to be realistic than optimistic or pessimistic.

I am hopeful that we might win today, but I wouldn't be optimistic about it. I'd see a draw as more likely.

In my experience it does nothing but lead to a greater level of disappointment when things don’t go the way you’ve convinced yourself they’re going to go. Obviously it’s not healthy to be absolutely shrouded in a negative mindset about every single thing, but the approach of being realistic makes much more sense than being blindly optimistic (or delusional)

Not at all confident looking at that team. Fulham are on their worst run of the season though and Mitrovic is a big miss. So hard to know how it’ll go, f@ck it, 1-0 Toffees.

Apart from Simms over Maupay we didn’t have much choice in the rest of the team really if Patterson isn’t fully fit. Holgate would be the only other option over Godfrey and I’m not sure who I would prefer out of those two.
