Dyche should gamble on Calvert-Lewin

Fulham are discovering what Everton have known to their cost all season: Premier League points are hard to come by without a proven striker in the ranks. The former Everton manager Marco Silva returns to Goodison Park on Saturday – although not the technical area as he serves out a two-match ban – seeking to avoid a sixth successive defeat in all competitions. Fulham’s downturn commenced before Aleksandar Mitrovic received an eight-match ban for his implosion at Old Trafford but they have toiled in front of goal without their focal point. Will Everton be reacquainted with theirs for what looks a must-win game? Dominic Calvert-Lewin is back in full training having been sidelined for 10 weeks with a hamstring injury sustained in Dyche’s first match in charge. The Everton manager kept his counsel on whether the centre-forward will be fit to start against Fulham but, given the predicament and the occasion, the temptation will be huge. Andy Hunter
With Doucoure out, I'd start Calvert-Lewin even if it meant pain-killing injections.

This way of playing doesn't work without a physical presence up top.

But they are at least FBs and I'd rather see them play in their preferred position than CBs (i.e. Godfrey or Holgate) particularly in a game that we need to score.

As with all these things, time will tell and we'll see who Dyche prefers for the game and how it pans out.
I cant believe Dyche looks at either Mykolenko or Patterson and thinks there's a future for them at Everton.

All of a sudden DCL is being seen as our saviour from some on here. Starting from tomorrow. I just don't get this. Have we all forgotten how DCL performed in most seasons gone by. I do not rate him, never have done, never will. If we are to beat Fulham tomorrow we will need another string to our bow.

No, I dont see it that way as I said yesterday. A draw takes us to 8 points from safety as far as I'm concerned.
On one hand I’d say that if you had to pick any team to play at home at this current moment then it would be Fulham….on the other hand this Everton team aren’t going to blow anyone out of the water and every game will be a battle for points - there’s a part of me thinks that without Coleman and doucoure it’s a trickier game than spurs for example.

Very much so.

If we get the win under those circumstances I think that's it - we're going to get safe.

Traveling up to Goodison from Portsmouth early tomorrow. Me and my 13 year lad will do about 10 Everton games this season but tomorrow is a bit special as my 79 year old dad is joining us. He hasn't been to Goodison for 10 years but the thought of going with his grandson eventually was a temptation he couldn't resist any more. Everton, although you have never listened to me before and put the three of us through weekly crap, please get a win tomorrow (and another 3 afterwards)!!!!

If we don't win tomorrow I'll be seriously worried. Worse thing that could happen is a a gap start to form above us, really need the RS to do us a favour also.
