well in blues, 3 points is all that matters in the end, our finishing was poor but we no doubt deserved that in the 2nd half. They had no internationals, where we had 15 and it definitely showed, they could chase everything around, whereas we were a bit lethargic. Apart from jags and distin, everyone played well (howard didn't have a save to make so can't include him).

didn't even get nervous in the last 10, we just controlled easily because we were still going looking for another up until the 94th min, unlike this certain person

Jonathan Guckian: That goal was the direct result of Moyes' negative substitutions. Not for the first time this season.

Hassan Al Jumah: Moyes must take the blame. Why alter your back 4 in the final 10 mins?

#lol

4 points off top having played city and chelsea already, good going blues.

ref was terrible again, not sure how you can book baines for simulation when he wasn't even appealing, sometimes people expect contact so embrace themselves for it and that affects their momentum.

funny how a model pro like baines gets booked for diving when that racist **** across the park wins a pen and a red card and a valuable point for his team by diving because someone touched their shoulder.

just had a feeling pienaar would make the difference when he came on, 3 points is all that matters, we would have drawn that game last year for sure.

We ground out a result. It was good to see Mirallas and Pienaar open their accounts and it sounded like McCarthy had his best game for us yet. It's pleasing too that Martinez will replace players who are below par rather than accepting sub-standard performances. If Kone and Peanuts had converted seemingly simple chances the victory would have appeared much more comfortable.

Can't grumble at being ahead of City, Spurs and United as things stand and within touching distance of the leaders.

We'll play better than that and lose and we will play worse than that and win. That's football for you.

Sometimes the team get out of bed the wrong side and the day is a struggle. The international break didn't help. Only Bayern Munich had more players than Everton on international duty through the whole of Europe so it all adds up.

It's all about the points, and we got them.

Classic moyes rooney off smalling on and saints score

mwhaha.

Anyway I'm glad that's over. Hull played high-tempo good passing incisive football quite a lot today, even more so than when they turned Newcastle over. They carry a lot of danger. Good to get the 3 points.

Just noticed our goal difference is only +2, which isn't great when we are looking to break the top 4, and it's exactly the reason why we're still only 5th now after that win.
