we're 4 points from Europe and 8 points from relegation.

THIS SEASON. IS NOT OVER.

the implications of that can be positive, and they can be negative. As someone who loves analyzing statistics for soccer, we're in one of the most crazy-ass situations I've seen since Leicester's run (lolz Chelsea).

just check out the betting odds on relegation. NOBODY KNOWS. This is very much down to City dominance, holding out a large top point spread, forcing other brackets to close down.
t1:
20-14 -- 4 point spread
13-7 -- 9 point spread
6-2 -- 11 point spread
2-1 -- 15 point spread
x1:
20-10 -- 8 point spread

what does this crazy [Poor language removed] mean? Arsenal is a split team: it connects a 13 points gap from 7-5, which is not *too* unusual, but then we have a 15 point gap from 20-7

Everton are actually entering into another point gap as well, with a 6 point spread, but if we win against Arsenal, and the top half also advances with to a 51-point margin, we're talking about one of the most contested 7th place battles the BPL has seen in years. 2009 was a big one, with Fulham pulling it out, but this is up for grabs.

COYB if we get Europe again, then this isn't all for naught: that attracts managers/players, if we drop out it's a failure, if we get in this has only been a Stall, a Transition phase.

Do you know what impresses me about Coleman. He was out for a year and he would have the leg break physiological aspect in his mind yet he played his guts out. A very special player.

Compare that to Barkley who Chelsea fans are currently making excuses for as he has been out for 6 months.

Lol at them and Ross no idea Barkley

First few pages are comedy defeatist gold apart from a couple, like people75. Really the game should have been put to bed by half time, I suppose it will take some time for magic Sam to properly formalise the well crafted winning football we showed in the first half. Big shout to Mr Everton Seamus, another For Mr Everton mrk 2 Tom Davies, and hello Theo with your well crafted beard...

There were some good performances last night. Keane looked better, Walcott added pace and quickness and scored two goals, Davies played better and Coleman got better and better as the game went on. But for me Gueye was magnificent and bossed the midfield right to the end and was my MOTM.
Strange sort of game, first ten minutes they were all over us and hit the bar, we stirred into action and should have been 3 or 4 up at half time, if Niasse had slotted the one in the box and then after robbing Maguire of the ball. Penalty goes in and there is an almighty panic and nerves jangling.
Sets us up nicely for the Arsenal game, let's hope we play better than the last time we were in London. Walcott and Coleman looked like they have been playing together for ages and is a very promising right side.

We looked really disjointed and lethargic last night and you started really well. The nature of the first goal was infuriating from our perspective as there was little danger but you pressed well and got the goal. Not gonna blame the Mahrez debacle as you fully deserved the win but I hope he gets a rough time in training if he bothers turning up.

Good to see Coleman back! Think you’ll easily do enough to stay up now and hopefully you’ll get a manager in to sort you out in the summer

We needed the points more than you! I think you got a bit unlucky tbh, with the woodwork and the fact that it didn't look like our team just rolled out of bed for the first time in a year. Was a decent game I thought, though Everton have set the bar low for expectations recently

Yeah maybe that showed a little bit. We still have 7th to play for though which could easily be a Europa qualifying spot.

I did say before the game that if you’re in a bad run of form we’re the team you wanna play lol

i'd say the same about us. If you're a striker who hasn't scored for months or new to the league we're the team to play!
