...I think that’s a very fair assessment. It’s not been pretty but in the main it’s been effective. We were 9/2 to get relegated when he came in, I checked last night and we’re now 80-1. The state we were in after Southampton makes me doubt anybody could’ve done any better from a points perspective.

I actually thought we played well for much of the game last night. Other than 15mins at the start and 15mins at the end, the football was decent and not the stereotypical ‘hoof’ that folk associate Allardyce with.

I thought Leicester were poor for an hour, and those that wanted us to buy Chilwell saw him make two mistakes for our goals and Martina much more effective. I thought we were ok all over the pitch. If I was critical, I thought Rooney was quite undisciplined at times, almost too arrogant on the ball. Although Niasse missed chances he pressed high up the pitch and made it difficult for their back four.

Ya. I had same thoughts on rooney. He seemed a little too cocky and got caught out a couple times. His tug back was a continuation of this for me. In saying that i think he can do a very good job in that postion against lower teams. I wouldnt have him near the starting line up against top teams.

Finally able to see the whole game uninterrupted by bad streams. That mad 80-90 yard dash in the 92nd minute by Seamus in his first game back... I have no words. Tip my hat to 60 grand Captain Coleman.

Still need to sort out set piece defense. Horrific.

A much needed win but we had some luck in the 2nd half. Remember that goal mouth fiasco when they hit the wood work twice!

Mind they were well and truly on the ropes until Rooney gave them a lifeline.

Hopefully Mangala will help with this. Tall with a good leap on him.

Thank you Seamus Coleman for giving us a very timely reminder of what a good player looks like. Hopefully you and Walcott can do bits together for the remainder of the season. Hope to see Tosun put back in for the weekend, we have nothing else to play for (outside of securing safety) so give all the games to players that have futures at this club and freeze out those that don't for the rest of the season. We need to build a foundation for next season starting now.

What’s the point in letting FSA build for next season when hopefully he won’t be here next season.
Unless we get a really good run , finish 7th and play some good football I reckon he’s gone in the summer

No i agree. But he is putting points on the board. The football is woeful. But last november befire he came in we were woeful and not getting points. There is a good chance we would be still in a mess points wise if he wasnt in charge. He was brought in to keep us up. He is doing that. He is not long term. So i credit him for getting points.

Do you believe that we were not in big big trouble last november points wise? If you look at the table now any one of the teams on 20 something points can still go down. There is no gap between them. Without him we would be in that muddle. Have no doubt about that. What good is playing nice football and play in the championship next year? It ruins clubs. Sunderland etc etc etc.
I agree to an extent feller as I don’t think we’re out of the clear by any stretch, before last night’s result we were playing awful stuff with no identity, and by identity I mean trying to score. I welcome ‘ugly wins’ as long as they’re consistent and not 1 every 6 and lose the other 5. My earlier outburst (calling Allardyce a knobhead) is based on poor results the last few weeks and my disillusionment with the club and how it’s operating at the moment

A game made closer by our shocking defending.
As is already proven this season we get beat playing like this.
Luckily, once in a while we get away with it.
