Gana was superb last night, and my MoTM, but notable were Seamus (fantastic to see him back), Walcott (excellent goals, but faded 2nd half) Martina (his best match for us) Keane (a significant improvement) and Siggurdson ran his backside off for the team.

Davies had a good second half, Rooney ticked it all over in midfield - and bar his silly penalty giveaway, was pretty good.

All in all the best match under Allardyce.

Went for Walcott for attacking threat, which he have so often carried very little of.

Seamus was outstanding for someone who has been out for almost a year, but leaving that aside and looking solely at the performance rather than their situation over the last year Theo has to get it.

Wonderful to have a defender in contention for MOTM though.

I think we were very lucky to get the points and it was vital we got all three considering the form of the teams below. Still a lot of ball to be played. I doubt it will go as well as it did for him tonight.

No i agree. But he is putting points on the board. The football is woeful. But last november befire he came in we were woeful and not getting points. There is a good chance we would be still in a mess points wise if he wasnt in charge. He was brought in to keep us up. He is doing that. He is not long term. So i credit him for getting points.

Do you believe that we were not in big big trouble last november points wise? If you look at the table now any one of the teams on 20 something points can still go down. There is no gap between them. Without him we would be in that muddle. Have no doubt about that. What good is playing nice football and play in the championship next year? It ruins clubs. Sunderland etc etc etc.

...I think that’s a very fair assessment. It’s not been pretty but in the main it’s been effective. We were 9/2 to get relegated when he came in, I checked last night and we’re now 80-1. The state we were in after Southampton makes me doubt anybody could’ve done any better from a points perspective.

I actually thought we played well for much of the game last night. Other than 15mins at the start and 15mins at the end, the football was decent and not the stereotypical ‘hoof’ that folk associate Allardyce with.

I thought Leicester were poor for an hour, and those that wanted us to buy Chilwell saw him make two mistakes for our goals and Martina much more effective. I thought we were ok all over the pitch. If I was critical, I thought Rooney was quite undisciplined at times, almost too arrogant on the ball. Although Niasse missed chances he pressed high up the pitch and made it difficult for their back four.

I enjoyed a game of football for only the second time this season. Can’t say fairer than that.
Only caveat is Rooney needed to be substituted much earlier , he noticeably tires around the sixty minute mark and his mistakes multiply. That penalty and the subsequent pressure could have cost us points when we were previously in control.
Walcott is a player and has dispelled my scepticism.
But most importantly for me was the triumphant return of a living legend who embodies Everton Football club for me........
Welcome back Seamus!!

sorry if already mentioned, but I saw a few tweets last night some with pics, of some guy saying things like "someone best have reported this racist ****" etc, and lots of people sayin "i heard that" or "someone was telling me about that" etc

does anyone know what was going on? don't need to hear the unsavoury details but if anyone knows the general gyst?

I think it was probably about the West Ham director of recruitment's comments regarding contracting African players.
