I consider that a good result.

Sterling, Sturridge and Coutinho are very good players and can tear sides to shreds but we nullified any threat they posed.

That's a good result for a team with our defensive record/issues this season.

I've just read Redknapp's review of the game. I thought he got it spot on. McCarthy is the only player I fear losing. Barkley and Stones are both too underdeveloped but McCarthy is in his prime and would walk on to any first team in the premiership.

We needed to nullify the RS game and did so by playing three DM's. Not very exciting but at least we stopped them scoring. Shame we do not have the players to hurt them on the break.

They played just as negatively however Coutinio, Sterling and Ibe are better than our 3.

...1990 since they won their domestic league, that's 25 years and counting thanks to Slippy Steve. That's an abysmal return for the greatest club in the whole wide world.
