Will attempt to rate our players...

Pickford, 8, two good saves, nothing else to do
Coleman 6, didn't attack at all, was safe enough in defence
Jagielka 6, hoofed it aimlessly all game, wasn't threatened in defence
Keane, 7, won most aerial duels, put in some tackles and looked assured for once
Baines 5, garbage, constantly left space down their right, offered nothing going forwards
Schneiderlin, 6, tidy enough game, looked at least heads and shoulders better than Rooney and Davies
Rooney, 4, appalling, body is failing him, can't pass, can't run, attitude stinks
Davies, 4, as bad as Rooney just without the attitude. Did nothing right all game
Bolasie, 6, great shot but aside from that looked lazy and incapable of being any sort of danger to their defence
Walcott, 5, thought he was a joke today, offered nothing at all, kept slipping over, couldn't even take a run at their 4th choice centre back playing as a full back
Tosun, 6, give him a six out of pity for those players around him, he had no chance to get into the game

The main problem as i see it is that our closing down is always reactive and lacks any sense of anticipation whatsoever, which in turn means we rarely win the ball back in good positions with enough players supporting. I find it all so frustrating to watch

They were 8th two years ago they've had a wonder one off season from salah who's won them those 26 points himself. The one who did that last year has already left.
I don't bother with comparing to them, just know they're nothing special.

Coutinho didn't win them 26 points on his own and nor has Salah. They are both excellent players who are or were used effectively in a well thought out and planned tactic.

Carsley talking absolute rubbish on Sky bigging up Rooney saying how quality he is, how he dictates play and just needs to find his place in the team. Shut up Lee.

It's quite amazing how scared to tell the truth some of these pundits are. We watch the games there is no need to insult our intelligence just because he's their mate and he's called Wayne Rooney.

Our main problem is we don't do it in numbers. The two wingers need to right up on their full backs on the edge of the oppositions area. Goal kicks, the lot, don't worry about following them back up the pitch let them worry about you because they're defenders first and foremost.

Our pressing is one of them chasing the keeper then the defenders on their own whilst the other two sit back, it's basics.

That's because the hard press is a buzzword on MOTD & Sky and our manager knows what it's kind of supposed to look like but has no real idea of how to plan it, how to coach it nor how to fit it into a cohesive tactic.

Just back. He's happy with that 0-0. I'm not.
Our crowd only responded when we had go in the last 10 mins!!
Even their Manager has just said if Everton get a corner the crowd get up. We just never pushed them back until the late flurry.

8 years without even a win or two at Goodison. Diabolical, even if they're better than us. You rattle them (minimum expectation). So disappointed.

One positive is that at least when we do eventually beat them in the future, it wont be under Allardyce. Bad enough us being tarred with him saving us when he didn't without him taking credit for that too. Just want the season over and it will be in another 5 games thankfully.

Few points from todays game -

1.Hated pre match show on all channels . They were all bragging abt liverpool squad rotation n klopp tactics . Everton were also playing in the derby , someone needs to remind them

2.How on earth did we not score .

3.Was it just a coincidence or big sam really did mastermind this . I have been noticing Liverpool attack on all gears in first half , and then get tired in the second half . Particularity in the last 10 min , they always become very vulnerable after 80 min of pressing . Me and my pal used to joke that teams shud just defend against Liverpool for first 60 min and should then start attacking them . And we actually did that today and it worked !! So was this a master strategy by Big Sam !!! Or it just happened

Yes that's what i was trying to allude to when saying there is no anticipation. There were times today when tosun would put the centre backs under pressure but they'd have easy out balls to the fullbacks because our wingers hadn't anticipated where the next pass would go at all. I hate to say it but the rs along with city and spurs are great at doing just that

was on about last season re coutinho, they finished 15 points ahead of us, he won well more than that on his own, but now he's gone. Same as lukaku for us.

they struggle against your generic negative managers in the prem i.e. pullis, allardyce and pardew. It's not masterful from allardyce, it's just allardyce. It's so simple, mourinho's ben showing for nearly a decade how easy it is to play against them, you just highlighted above how simple it is, but you end up with so many managers in the prem like wenger and guardiola who are too proud to do just that and keep getting beaten shipping loads of goals. It is annoying as i believe they're one of the easier teams to set up against in the prem, especially as they have no plan b.

Players like solanke and ings are who they can turn to when things don't go there way, hardly the same kettle of fish as their starters.
