Can't help feeling Kone will struggle against these, despite how good he's been these past two games.

Surely Mirallas should play, we need the pace out wide for when their full backs bomb forward.

Actually glad they haven't got a big target man like Dzeko or Negredo. They always used to cause us more bother than Aguero (although he still seemed to score all the time). They've got class all over the pitch. Contrary to popular opinion I'd rather they did attack down their flanks because their four wide players aren't that good. I'd fancy Coleman to shut Raheem Wright Phillips down and Galloway will be hanging back anyway hopefully negating Navas. It's in the middle that they have world class quality. McCarthy needs to be in god like shutting down mode and hope that Toure used up all his long range belts the other night. Best tactic for us is Ross running off where Toure should be and trying to get Rom on the counter. Think whoever scores first wins.
Spot on. Toure is a world class on his day, but on the other hand he's the biggest liability in their squad if he's not up for it IMO. That's the main factor why they struggling in Europe - they're not having enough bodies in the middle when Toure is out of place. That's a great opportunity for Barkley to shine.

This is the worst game we could have had, really.

We've got a lot of confidence at the moment and a good result now starts us on a run, so naturally we play the best team in the division, who just bummed the champions 3-0.

I'd take a draw now. I just think they're a big step above us and it will be hard to stop them. A point keeps the momentum going into the rest of our difficult fixtures.

This is the type of game Everton always perform in, I see it being a 2-2 draw realistically but it's not out of the realms of possibility that we will win today. If we play the right system against Man City we can beat them, Pelligrini is by no means an AMAZING manager and will not plan any sort of tactical masterpiece against us. Coyb.

Imagine getting a result here today, it would give everyone a great lift again, we shouldn't fear anyone in the league. Fingers crossed

Would be nice to see us on top of that league table, after the weekends fixtures.

Tell everyone here that Everton are ace, and maybe a well connected researcher could ask a Saudi prince to buy us out.

Au contraire.

I think this is a great match to have next.

We know we will get to play against a team hellbent on attacking.

Ergo we won't be poncing cluelessly about with sideways passes on the edge of their box if it were Stoke or the Baggies coming.

Think back to January when last we played them.

The team was really in the doldrums then.....it was the absolute nadir of that horrible season.

Citeh came and most on here had us dead and buried before a ball was kicked.

We took a well deserved point and but for a Joe Hart worldie Rom would have won it for us near the end.

These teams at home suit us way better than the bus parkers.

Our sweet ivorian prince is scared of no one.

Normally I'd agree -- we definitely suit playing teams who will attack us over those who sit back and defend -- but I just think they're a bit too good at the moment.

I mean, Real Madrid would come and attack us all game, but I wouldn't fancy us getting anything out of that game. City have all their key players fit and firing, so I think it's just too big an ask.

On the plus side, if we do lose I won't be too down about it, and if we get something out of the game I'll be over the moon.
