No proper fan wants us to lose ever. Liverpool winning the title will benefit our club too bringing more focus and attention to the city. Anyone who wants us to lose a game just to hinder the reds is a bitter fool.

I did not want us to lose.
RM set up the team as well as he could with the fitness levels he had especially in defence
We took the game to Citeh from the start to finish but came up short defensively because we had not got our first choice FIT defence available - TH could have done a bit better but has had a very good season

But your argument that the RS winning the title would benefit our club through more attention for the city is, I am afraid, not supported by reality.

Bayern - Munich 1860
Barca - Espanyol
Valencia - Levante
Porto - Braga
Club Brugge - Cercle Brugge

During the horrible 70s we had to put up them year after year. Evertonians even turned out to meet their victory parade for winning the EC in 1977 but Emlyn Hughes encapsulated their class with his "tragic" speech - may he RIP but that was horrible.

Sorry. I am happy overall with yesterday - we did not roll over by any means, but am I happy that the RS are not in driving seat - YES

Everton are Magic - Liverpool ....slip sliding away

I think you're in a massive minority. Your suggestion that them winning it will benefit us....how on earth does that work? I'm genuinely intrigued to understand your logic. Especially as you consider so many fellow Blues as "not proper fans" and "bitter fools".....not your best moment on GOT mate.

Haha, need a tissue lad? Look, dress it up however you want, the only thing that should matter is Everton winning and bettering our points tally. If you can't stand Liverpool so much that you're prepared for them to fail at the detriment of us then maybe you should join some sort 'Liverpool hate' group, it probably suits your priorities more. Of course it doesn't affect us as a club, why would it? Of course their fans will go on about it but they already go on so much about their fecking history that it doesn't matter.

We're not a small club, we don't exist to hinder Liverpool, we are a club in our own right and we win games for ourselves.

Is your hatred of them really that large that you want us to lose games? Really?

Looking forward to your week-by-week involvement in Everton's fortunes. You speak like one of us offering lots of advice from out perspective: "Of course it doesn't affect US as club" etc. Though sometimes you seem to change perspective: "Is YOUR hatred of them..." Wait, I thought you were one of us. Would hate if it turned out you were an LFC supporter and you were pretending to be an Evertonian. Would hate if it turned out you were some sad lad who doesn't actually support Everton and is just pretending to be one and venting their bitter spleen on an Everton site because...why? Well, because I find it such a pathetic and sad thing to do. So bitter. I'm sure your real position vis-a-vis Everton will become clearer to me in the coming weeks. And I'll eat my words.

Haha this is brilliant - the guy far right with the norway beanie on lol has to be a kopite surely?
.
He is a mad blue who actually wanted us to lose he hates LFC so much......he is of Norwegian descent I think and insists the hat brings us luck!!! Started wearing it this season I think so maybe he has a point.

Alright lads, City fan. Was in the away end yesterday. Christ, I've not recovered yet. That last 20 minutes was torture. Absolute torture. Was really happy with how we played, but your lads gave it absolutely everything. No question of them throwing the game, if they were trying to they did an awful job of letting it show. Barkley though. What a player. Huge prospect, and that goal was absolutely top drawer. When it went in I thought it would be business as usual for City at Goodison (been twice before today and hadn't even seen a City goal) and I always dread going there. But was happy our lads showed the fight and hopefully we can win our last two and beat that shower across the park from you to the title.

Very sad that we lost, really wanted another win against a so called top 4 club, not to be regrettably. Barkers goal has to be the goal of the season, it was for me any how.

I admire Roberto's idea of 3 cbs anf pushing the FBs up as wing backs but it did not come off against City. The CBs did not seem to know who to mark and their goals were from unmarked players, the tactics let them in and the wings were exposed. When Jags was subbed we settled back to a traditional 2cbs and pull the fbs back some thing which the players seemed to be more comfortable. I also think playing Osman ahead of McG or Del was a mistake. No once in the MOTD report was his name mentioned, another seemingly invisible perfomance perhaps others who seen the whole game may be able to comment more.

I must admit that the result and the manner in which it was achieved sits very comfortably with me. We gave the other lot hope right to the very last minute while we gave Shitty one hell of a fright. Dignity intact, 5th and Europa League footy in the bag, the sh*te's title hopes dented..all in all a good day. With hand on heart, how many on here think that we are ready for the vigors of Champs League footy? I'm more than happy for us to cut our teeth in the Europa League next season which I think we'll give a really good shake. Slow and steady progress is the best way forward.

It won't bring any attention to the city, and certainly no attention to Everton.
