Cowardly performance when we needed to show some guts,a midfield with two players that dont tackle, close down or try to win an ariel duel,Gomes was absolutely non existant before he went off and Gylfi is a ghost of a player he marks space when defending but manages to find players when attacking,2 minutes to go and he gently floats a cross in,we need about 4 windows to sort this team out and around 10 players removed

I forgot to record it and turned it on as they scored the second and heard we didn't have a shot on target second half. Why do we find these so difficult?

Let's no overreact now as usual. They were better, fresher and had that touch of class with Cavani's finish. We looked solid in the second half, back 4 again excellent.

Move on to boxing day, hopefully James back in the mix and see the likes of Gordon getting a run out to freshen things up.

Happy Xmas Evertonian's, we have been in alot worse situations than this.

Carlo has worked miracles without our best players James, Allan, and Digne over the last week or so, but there's only so long you can rely on the unreliables that populate our squad. These lads are great when the pressure is off, but when there's something genuinely significant to play for they revert to their usual hopeless selves and find a way to lose. Don't say you weren't warned.*

*The above post may or may not be a desperate attempt at managing personal expectations to dull the deep demoralising ache of defeat, disappointment, disenchantment, and despair. Dignitas for All.
Well, I called it. 25 years of bitter experience. Let's face it, how many big clutch matches in the cups has Seamus Coleman lost now? Why would anybody expect him to break the habit of a lifetime in his playing dotage tonight? A good lad, Seamus, not solely his fault of course, but we need winners, not good lads. And the truth is, Carlo had only a smattering of his own players on that pitch tonight.

At some point, we have got to recognise that the likes of Sigurdsson, Gomes, and Iwobi are simply not up to the task of winning trophies. It's probably fair to say a fair few of the rest of them are in the same category. To be fair to Sigurdsson, he tries. But Gomes should not be next or near our squad. With the best will in the word, he simply doesn't have the mentality for it.

The rebuild must continue in January. If you have notions of competing with United - a team we hammered 4-0 18 months ago whe the pressure was off (but of course) - then you've got to have a squad that can. Anything else is a pipe dream.

Needed Gordon not bloody Tosun, Carlo needs to look at himself, as bad as it gets

My god, it really wasn't that bad! First 20 minutes awful but for the rest of the game we held our own up until the end. Sorry to say this but United are a good team and better than we are, unfortunately, with much more depth and options in their squad. We played better in this game than the last time we played them. Our biggest problem is midfield and the inability of players like Iwobie (especially) to pick out the final pass and feed the forwards effectively.

Soon as we lose one game it's always the same. COWARDS. BOTTLERS! DISGRAAACE! Worst game I ever saw and I've been watching for 6000 years!
