Not what we wanted but still very much a work in progress. Have to do better on the transition, especially if teams close Gana quickly. Thought second half was much better though, Garner looks a tidy little player. As long as we keep giving our all and making teams work then we will be fine.

Hope DCL can get fit. Cannot be bothered watching us continue to hoof the ball to Maupay all season. We need to play a different way if we have him in the side.

Tbh the result was less about united and more about us. We were too sloppy in that first half. Iwobi had his worst game of the season so far, good to see and DCL back and excited by Garner.

Better second half, individual mistakes cost us ultimately but we were right in the game till the end again which is a big positive to take

Absolute dogsh1te. We played like a poor burnley team there. Sitting back after going 1 up is a huge issue for us. We can't keep doing that and think we are going to get away with it every time.

Garner looked good for the short period we saw him.

Typical sky rules game that. Both teams were crap, officials atrocious, that goal should have stood, hit his tit and his chin, nowhere near his hand.

Looked like that until the different angle replay, it hit his right hand first

Bit of a stinker all around but these three were particularly bad I felt;

Gordon had a shocker. Didn't do anything right.
Coleman... we can't get Patterson back quick enough.
Gana - wake up fella, cost us two goals in two games now - he'd be lucky to start the next one.

Paid the price for a first half where we just went through the motions and offered nothing really.

It's painfully obvious that we haven't got the pace or quality to hurt teams with rapid back to front. I think we're one of the slowest teams ro move the ball forwards, not that surprising given the necessary focus on defence and solidity in midfield this summer.

Hopefully if Calvert Lewin can get a run of games he may be a catalyst for looking to move it forwards more quickly.

They're not great but they're still fifth. It's not exactly a disaster losing 2 - 1. Could definitely have got something on another day, just one of those days where it didn't click

Really seemed like that one split second of lost concentration from Gana really took the wind out of our sails.

Positive to see DCL back and minutes for Garner.

Still, this was a reality check after some positive results and we remain very much a work in progress in a transition season.
