haha, seriously how do you defend against it. you step up to play the striker offside, he is offside, he runs towards the ball so you think he's interfering with play so you stop and then he runs away from it, but into a goalscoring position. ha.

if mirallas squares it to him to tap it in, how is he not interfering with play? haha

Because it's the second phase of play. The first phase of play is the ball lifted over the top and the player than runs to receive the ball. Lukaku checked his run, Mirallas continued his and the United defenders stood around like idiots waving their hands. They should have covered the run.

Once in that position, Mirallas could have squared to it to Lukaku as he's in the second phase of play and behind the ball.

Rules of the game really. United failed to use the offside trap properly, we capitalised.

I agree Froggy Ted !!! didn't see you last week, where ya been ?? everything alright?

Yeah mate! I don't make it on here for every game like, but just had to come on today to sing the praises of one of our best performances this season. It's nice to take the scalp on one of the traditional Top 4 teams again. Things are really looking up now for next season, with just a bit of strengthening needed in midfield and up front.

i understand the rule, i just don't necesserily agree with it. we all think standards of defending has dropped from a couple of decades back, but i bet all the defenders from the 80's and 90's are thanking their lucky stars they don't have to play now.

the bottom line is the first rule of football is to play to the whistle and mirallas was onside himself, so they only have themselves to blame like.
