We are 5 points of 4th as well as 5th lad.
Why did you leave that out?
Dont answer.
Its because it wouldn't have sounded negative enough. 100% fact.
It's called confirmation bias. And you are drowning in it.
...there was also dashes of recency bias and cognitive bias...all in all, it was very biased lol

As much as I hate the games, I never go into them with a negative attitude, I just can’t bring myself to those depths
I can it’s not really been great being an Everton fan for years, Moyes brought some brighter spells and when we did have a cash injection I thought things were on the up, but still poor football we never look comfortable always a disjointed look about us. Hopefully a few decent signings in the summer can take us up a level, because it doesn’t look like it’s happening this season.

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti tells Amazon:

Yeah starting to believe at 1-1 and the game for an hour was difficult, they showed fantastic quality but we were in the game, worked hard but after the second goal it was the key point in the game and were not able to get back.

"First is the quality, they found a fantastic combination and Riyad Mahrez shot fantastically.

Lost to the champions?
I think so, it is really difficult to say another name. Manchester City in this moment are in a good move, they have fantastic quality, they have belief, they are strong because we tried to put the game on a strong side but it was difficult against Rodri, Ruben Dias and Aymeric Laporte.

Best team you have faced this season?
Yeah, congratulations to them."

They are able to play really well with the ball and work hard without it, they do not give you much possibilities to play, the effort of all the players was really high.

Yerry Mina I don't think he is going to play (against Liverpool), we have to look at Dominic Calvert-Lewin and prepare well for the next game. It is a great opportunity, we don't have to have regrets tonight, the regrets was against Fulham. We know how much the next game is important for that supporters and will do all we need to to get the result on Saturday.

"The derby is a special game and away we have a good run so we hope for

Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti to BBC Sport

It was hard, almost impossible. We were in the game for an hour and we fought.

When they scored the second goal it was very dificult. They are the best team and we are not at the same level. They don't have only quality, they are also strong.

At the moment they are the best team, they have quality, power, belief. It is very difficult to compete with them.

"It will be a different game against Liverpool. We are on a good run away and we believe more. Liverpool are a fantastic team but in football you never know.

"Yerry Mina won't be able to play at the weekend."

Simple question, what did Carlo do differently there to what fat Sam would have done? 29% possession, 3 attempts? City weren't outstanding, they were efficient. Carlo spent nearly 80 million and we still look pathetic going forward?

Wtf is going on? Not enough priority is being given to our offensive game and ball retention. Too much emphasis on being 'solid', which will win you nothing, and playing players like gylfi means we are basically starting with 10 players.

As Holgate is young and English and given we only paid a couple of million for him, we could book sufficient FFP P&L to sell him this summer but also to release Sigurdson and offset any corresponding book loss on same. They are each two awful players retarding this squads progress (the worst but not the only). Make it happen Marcel.

I want to see us have more than one way of formulating an attack.

Do that and keep the defensive solidity and we'll beat most teams.

I can take losing today (in a way) but it's compounded by Fulham. And our way of attacking is what is costing us points, because it's crap.

Less chances created in the league than Newcastle. That's awful.
And I have said them losses were not anywhere near good enough and we need to improve.
I was talking about tonight's game . If we tried to attack more tonight we would have been ripped asunder.

With Arsenal and Spurs behind us in the table, I expect us to finish 9th.

That's going to be pretty disappointing if so.

We wasted all those games in hand. We have some good players, technically speaking, but we just dont have the pace or mentality to cut it at the top of the league. We are (and will end up) where we deserve to be.

There's no denying City are a very good side.

You can't score when the default is to pass backwards though, it's not even something instilled in them by our current manager. There were a few occasions we had plenty in the box but the ball went all the way back to our box before being blasted back to their defence.

In some ways I thought we were strict / resilient and the effort there, but we played like we didn't believe we could win.

We did nothing going forward until they scored, then we scored through some really intelligent football. Throughout this season we've had games when it seemed we wouldn't score then we've got a hatful. It must be a mentality thing.

I don't think this squad has it in them to go to Anfield with how the hysterical media are about to act in the coming days, and be strong enough to deal with a terrified ref and an overly aggressive opposition. I do hope I'm wrong because they probably haven't got it in them to recover until there is no expectation on them.

Tonight wasn't an unexpected result but the Fulham game has put a dampener on spirits and we've been comprehensively beaten.

Davies was good. We missed him in midfield when he went off.

Iwobi was ok. I wish he would, just once, try to beat a FB. He feigns like he's going to try, then every time checks and plays it into the middle.
I actually like Iwobi cutting inside as he causes problems. He just can't seem to take a player on. Davies was having an OK game but it was just a tactical switch that didn't work. At least we know Carlo didn't want to accept defeat or accept a 2-1 defeat. Bodes well when he has better players in future.

And I have said them losses were not anywhere near good enough and we need to improve.
I was talking about tonight's game . If we tried to attack more tonight we would have been ripped asunder.

it's not the 'trying to attack more' - I'm sorry if I'm not being clear

It's the way we attack.

I don't mind having 2-3 attacks a half against City, but you have to make them count and you have to have variety in how you do it, or it becomes entirely reliant on one player playing the exact right pass.

I don't think that paper still has a physical print run...I think it's all on-line nowadays. I would not have thought there was huge 'wider' demand for news from Wolverhampton so no wonder it's very parochial. As I told you, I only subscribe to it because it sometimes updates things on how Roscoe and BJ are getting on...and by extrapolation, what is the status of the 'gangsta fatwa' placed on Roscoe.
