I think that's the problem mate, some were getting carried away at spells in the season (especially with our start) when the reality is we're not actually that good.
It’s going to take another transfer window to two, Carlos is still working with players that weren’t good enough for previous managers and still haven’t improved good enough for what we need going forward.

Iwobi and Gylfi cannot start in this team if we want to do anything at all
In fairness to Crab, his homesickness is, by all reports, quite crippling and the 'mattress sharing' idea forwarded by Snail Keane was always suspect. And as for Iceland, I think he misses Swansea, so perhaps a little slack should be cut for him as well.

Yes but we still gave them the second half, we did nothing they totally controlled us. But I can take that to a degree from City it’s Fulham no Newcastle I struggle with. We have gone backwards lately, each game in reminding me more and more of Silvas final games here, thats I terrible as we do have one of the worlds best managers.
Who have City not controlled since going on the amazing run they are on?
It was the type of game I expected. Nothing we could do about 2 of the goals.
We had to soak up and hopefully counter because if we went at them then I would hazard a guess that they would have doubled there score.
We are miles away from City as are most teams so no point in going toe to toe

They're just too good. They're getting back towards 17-19 levels now, which is no bad thing.

Standard injury before the derby, but at least there were no reds.

Positive that King got some more minutes in the tank and hopefully is going to start against Liverpool.

Hopefully DCL and Allan will be back, but unfortunately I'll bet Davies was taken off because he'll be needed for Saturday and Allan won't be making it.

I just can’t see it, we bottle it every time against them, I expect 3-1 to them. Expect the worst and hope for the best is my motto, that way I won’t be to disappointed.
As much as I hate the games, I never go into them with a negative attitude, I just can’t bring myself to those depths

Davies was good. We missed him in midfield when he went off.

Iwobi was ok. I wish he would, just once, try to beat a FB. He feigns like he's going to try, then every time checks and plays it into the middle.
Davies and Iwobi still have time on there hand to come good, something the likes of Sigs doesn’t. Some players i happy to stay around as squad players, but sigs for example needs to be outed.

5 Points off 5th and 5 points off 11th. We are as close to the bottom half as we are a European place with the RS to come next....

Great time to be an Evertonian, all hail Carlo Ancelotti........ Made up with how this season is going.

Villa now have a game in hand are coming past as are Spurs and Arsenal who have stronger squads.

Season is over when they bounce us out of the cup, we cant even add any players this is what we got........

We are 5 points of 4th as well as 5th lad.

Why did you leave that out?

Dont answer.

Its because it wouldn't have sounded negative enough. 100% fact.

It's called confirmation bias. And you are drowning in it.

Its another loss, fairly abject. Second half was a proper rollover.

The game was there to get something and we didn't turn up after the break. The season will unravel unless we find some actual determination very soon.
The game was never there to get something.. they were better from the first kick. More quality all over. They have done it to everyone lately. We need to improve yes. But we were not getting anything tonight. A team playin at the top of there game bossed it.

Killed off by a superb goal but once again, Davies just doesn't have the legs to close down the space

Then killed off by Carlo putting Sigurdsson deep and we let a world-class player have a free shot 20 yards out

If we'd shown the spirit and desire we did for the first hour or so today against Fulham the other day, we win - but again, that falls on the manager because he set the team up so badly the other day.

But, we only have one way of attacking, and it's very predictable and relies on Digne's crossing being perfect - which, as many good balls as he puts in, he's actually pretty inconsistent

I want to see us have more than one way of formulating an attack.

Do that and keep the defensive solidity and we'll beat most teams.

I can take losing today (in a way) but it's compounded by Fulham. And our way of attacking is what is costing us points, because it's crap.

Less chances created in the league than Newcastle. That's awful.
