I didn't hate that loss. I can take being beaten by a better side, but its the game like Fulham where the effort just isn't there that pisses me off. Pep has City at the top and they constantly work for the win no matter who against, whereas ours turns up and sees teams like Fulham and Newcastle and think they can take a day off.

Not necessarily based on this game but I'd love to see stats on passes back to the keeper this season, we've got to be miles out in front?!? Is it instructions from the top? No midfielders showing or just our defenders that arent good enough to work the ball out?? Either way we spend our only time with the ball in possession 90 yards away from the opponents goal, I dont get it!!
I remember watching that tactic on Football Italia in the 90s!

Think we saw today how big the gap was between us and where we hope to be. They were absolutely immense and never had their 3 of there most important players starting.

Think the decision to keep Sigurdsson on was a poor one. To me he looked leggy against Spurs, Fulham and tonight so was no surprise to city their players dance round him when he went deeper. Sadly taking Davies off seemed to have an effect on Doucoure who was my MOTM as every attack we had in the first half came from his interceptions. Relying on him to defend leaves such a hole for us in all aspects of our game.

Another point that i though was that although there's no doubting the quality difference, against the stronger sides in the league, James is a player who wont track the full back and think Coleman was left isolated when he came on. Iwobi I think does the job in a disciplined performance yet as we know if were going to reach the heights we need players of James ability over iwobi.

I might sound like I'm moaning with all that, I cant really were bang out of form at home and for 60 mins I thought it looked good but they're the best team we have played against in years and the if we defend as a unit like this more think there's signs we might pick up at home.

Olson saves that 3rd
Allan closes better for the 2nd
Mina clears the header for the 1st.

Fine fine margins but City could go up 4 or 5 gears if they wanted.

Happy with the set up today but shame about the execution.

Pray Olsen, DCL and Allan back on Saturday in for Pickford, Sigurdsson and Davies.

Olson
Godfrey - Holgate - Keane - Digne
Iwobi - Allan - Doucoure
James - DCL - Richarlison

Ancelotti not worried, the fanbase is bricking it.... Our form is about as bad as it can get....

City (H) Lost 3-1
Fulham (H) Lost 2-0
Man Utd (A) Draw 3-3
Leeds (A) Win 2-1
Newcastle (H) Lost 2-0
Leicester (H) Drew 1-1
Wolves (A) Win 2-1
West Ham (H) Lost 1-0

2 wins in 8, scored 9 conceded 14, 8 points from 24 on offer. This Allardyce brand of football is not working, I cant wait till this season is finished. Starting to question CA TBH there is just no plan B, no way to try and find wins. Horror shows against Fulham, Newcastle, West Ham and Leeds at home shows his limitations. Those saying he cant manage a team without worlds class players or big budgets are being proven right at the moment.

Agree entirely mate. Attitude of some players stink. Love Carlo , but in my opinion , he needs to do a bit less of the arm around them / encouraging, bit , that he is used to doing with top class players. Some of ours need an a**e kicking. Didn't expect anything tonight as City are absolutely class , but some of our defeats this season have been against shocking teams e.g. Fulham

Off Topic
Ibiza I think it was...I suspect a little MDMA helped things along and Roscoe and BJ seemed to be quite close. But Ibiza is a loooong way from the black country and I genuinely am in the dark as to how they are getting on now.

Better performance, not much else to add. City showed what you should spend your money on, they are gorgeous to watch.

not overly upset this actually.

Exactly how I feel. Upset to lose as ever but City are this season what the RS were last season. I just hope we can turn them over in the cup with a bit of luck we'll be full strength. Right, time to cast away 22 years of hell and exorcise Anfield with a win on Saturday.

Gave it our best shot but city have quality all over their team and squad
everton lack that quality in the team and not enough strength in depth which we need to compete with the top six
hopefully we can add more strength in depth in the summer
