Matched them first half, sat too deep in the second half, then 1-0 down and Allardyce makes the weirdest sub ever, chasing the game and he brings on a defensive player for an attacking one, it's almost as if he said to himself "these are getting on top, first priority, keep the score down, I'm happy with it to end 1-0"

The only thing is, that defensive substitution provided a vital spark which for fifteen minutes in the second half has us looking like a proper Everton team again :(

To sum things up: Abysmal. Major problems in full back positions. No creativity whatsoever on the pitch. Painfully limited in attack. Rooney stunk the gaff out and was rightfully taken off. We didn't lay a finger on them until Macca came on and even then that was for about ten minutes. We are painful to watch

A sense of perspective is needed for the recent past, and what is immediately in front of us.

We had a very tough fight to get a point against last season's Champions.

We had a very tough fight against two teams in the relegation zone, away, who were going to go after us good-style, not simply lie down and allow us to take the point/points easily. Bournemouth scored a fluky, terribly deflected, winner - had it not deflected, it was Pickford's.

Tonight we were playing the second placed team in the Premiership. It took two superb, quality strikes to win the game.

Friday we are away to a team in the top four who have had the voodoo sign over us for years.

Then away to a resurgent Spurs who have far better quality players all over the pitch.

We are presently in a period such as we hit at the start of the season when we had all the top level teams at once.

No need to panic. The signs were there tonight. They just have to be there over the whole 90 minutes...

It' amazing though K because you say a proper Everton side yet all they done was a bit of collective pressing, a couple of tackles and on the front foot started pushing the mancs back. It ain't rocket science is it that if we play like that the fans will get behind the team. That 20 odd minutes in the 2nd half from 46 to 70 was a bloody joke. Literally anyone on this forum can set up a side to say sit in, get as many men behind the ball and then whack it away. If anyone has played any school football aged 6+ a crap teacher would coach you like this. Koeman could have done it, Unsworth could have done it and the reason the pair didn't ( well Koeman actually did do it away against City and it worked ) is because they knew that Everton fans won't accept Everton defending like a gang of knobheads for 90 minutes.

Pathetic management which is fitting for the likes of your Boltons and so on but not acceptable for us. Or if that's how we want to play it then you get a manager from league 1 or 2 and pay them 500k a year
