Ref had a nightmare and should be busted down to League One for next week's fixtures

Still, we showed good spirit to respond and I felt we ultimately deserved to win

Barry was magnificent, Barkley responded well from the game against Sunderland and the new signings continue to impress

13 points from 5 games and we're second in the table. Let's do the business against Norwich on Tuesday now to keep this good run going!

Good win. Disappointing that we dropped off in the second half though. Gueye brilliant as usual. Hopefully the lad taken ill is OK.
Shows how far we have come in such a short space of time under koeman, if the only diaspointment of the game is not adding to our goal tally. We did take our foot off the gas second half, but when you consider they didn't have a shot on target the whole game, it shows you how well we managed the game. Let's face it we were undercooked for the Spurs game (fitness) koeman promised it would be sorted and it has been addressed.

Thing is, no one is getting carried away, a'la "its our year", not in a million miles.

But we are starting to be a team that no one will want to play. Strong at the back, destructive and threatening in midfield, with pace on both wings, and enough creative quality to hurt teams.

And a constant goal threat.

Not too shabby, but give it another half dozen games and see where we sit.
Exactly right, Evertonians by our very nature for somewhere between pessimistic and level headed. I was listening to TS the other day and that plonker Jim White was asking 'could Everton be the new Leicester?' And to a man each Evertonian who rang played down our start and basically said 'let's take it 1 game at a time' and 'top 6 is the aim'

That to me is a common sense approach, but I've had a few so I'm fully expecting us to win the lot.

Just a shame, koeman wasn't at the helm this time last season with this team. I would really have fancied us making a shout for the top 4, as it is I think we could still be in the mix should we suffer few injuries. It just sad not only only have we improved this season, so has city, Utd, RS and Chelsea.

Mate we haven't lost all season. The RS lost to Burnley. Chelsea lost to the RS. United are a Mourinho team and we can match them quite easily. The only team that is noticeably better than us is City.

Have some hope.

Didn't look like that to me. Stek catches it but his grip is weak and isn't strong enough. If he'd have held onto it when knocked it would have been given as a foul
Clear foul but contact happened so fast that Mason let it slide. Two hard tackling sides (2.) & (3.) ahead so ref probs was like 'i'll let them play rough'
