In my defense I was a hormonal teenager at the time, they lured me in with the short shorts the same way they do with the cheerleaders. Now it is a mere cherry on a very tasty cake.

There's nothing worse than WAG's feigning interest in sport just to tag along...conversely there's nothing better than WAG's who know WTF is going on during a sporting event. There's too many of the former; spring training has been rife with them. The ones who show up to try and snag a minor league prospect are a real treat.

But going back to an earlier comment. Kiev would trounce Newcastle. Quite badly I think, that Yarmelenko, Veloso and Dragovic can easily fit into top half teams/ top 7

Ironically it is my better half that isn't really interested in football, despite us being together since roughly the stone age. But tbf to him he does know his stuff, came home from work last night and his first words were "how did Liverpool do against Swansea?"

He also held my hand during the first 30 mins of the Newcastle game in case Everton were - well Everton.

And for those who don't remember. Veloso was the brute next to Moutinho when we last battled in Europa league against Sporting Lisbon. Great player who picked us off all game. Made me wonder why we didn't go after him for the estimated 10 mill less

I'd rather that then have a Mrs who supports QPR, at least we can't be as bad as them...surely

Interests may be different but gender roles still the same...heh

I recommend watching it again, you might be very surprised. It's easier to observe the individual performances when you aren't on the verge of a heart attack worrying about the result.

I would still be on the verge of a heart attack.

I just watched a link to the Wembley penalty shoot out against United on a link someone left on another thread and I was biting my nails :(

Were it not for the fact that Barry and Mirallas were two of our better players against Kiev, this theory might be sound. The truth of it is that Newcastle were AWFUL, and Kiev were ok despite missing at least three starters.

Put it this way - if Kiev played Newcastle, who do you think would win?

To be honest, I thought Mirallas was pretty anonymous in the Kiev game.

Agree witchoo about Barry, though.

Yes, the lesser-spotted Mirallas. Rarely seen in flight on the wing, and ruffled feathers tend to impede performance, but majestic when ready to fly south.

Mmmmm....

He has the buttocks of an angel. Back off.
