It’s apparent that we have fitness issues.

With the exceptions of say Dom, Doucoure and Godfrey, many of our players look as though they’re good for perhaps thirty or forty minutes at most.

Sigurdsson for instance looks like he’s pulling for tugs on occasions, and I often wonder whether it’s more a case of recovery rather than ‘hiding’ in relation to Gomez’s periods of being inconspicuous. For a player of his ability, that instance of poor control in front of goal towards the end of the Leicester game spoke volumes for me.

I could of course add to this list of examples, not to sleight individuals, but just to highlight my concern.

Nothing to do with fitness. Its an attitude issue.

You can tell very early in games when the attitude is not good enough. Its almost always a game where the captain starts....

Is it mathematically impossible for us to not get a top four place now then?

Yes, I do watch quite a bit of football actually, although after today I might reassess that.

I said earlier on this season, anything is possible because it's such a bonkers situation with the league, providing we could show a bit of consistency, and that still holds true.

How is it not possible, given how patchy the majority of teams form, aside from city, has been?

Leicester can be got at, as we proved at their place.

United are overated and have just lost against arguably the worst team we've had in the division, and drew against a crap arsenal side today.

The rs have been dogpoo, and will still drop points going forward I think, regardless of how "well" they beat a shocking spurs.

Spurs are spurs - they will also drop points.

Sadly, after today's gutless showing, so will Everton.

I can see a different team breaking into the top four this season, rather the usual suspects - I'm still hoping it could be us, even after todays gutless display, otherwise what's the point?
We are not getting top four.

I didn't say we were mate - I said it was there if we wanted it, sadly, barring a Carlo miracle, the shower of cowards proved yesterday that they don't.

Hope they prove me wrong but I don't see it - I just would sooner see the positives and be optimistic, especially after some of our performance and points picked up this mad season. I know it's not easy with everton and our past history, but I'm optimistic every season, otherwise, like I say, what's the point?

I was really surprised with Coleman, usually he's in opposition players faces giving them grief , he was strangely quiet yesterday.
He wasn't the only player yesterday who looked devoid of spirit, but as captain of the club you have the responsibility to help lead and inspire the players.

Seamus was anonymous yesterday both in terms of his impact as a football and as our captain.

Yeah it was really weird yesterday mate, it was as if we thought all we had to do was turn up and the game was won, then when Newcastle started pressing us all over the gaff we downed tools.

The lack of intensity is an issue with mentality but it manifests itself in a physical form: our movement was poor; passing was slow; we didn't make chances.

It's easy to say that the early tackles and lack of inaction from the referee played a part, but we didn't respond to it. Where was fight back? The questioning?

I think the crowd being there would have probably helped in that part, however they're experienced professionals. They won the midfield and it showed.

It would have been interesting to have heard what the players were saying, or the lack of what they said.

The ref was a disgrace yesterday in failing to protect James from the thuggery of 'The hills have eyes' Shelvey, he should have been booked for his second bad tackle (If not his first) and sent off for the third and I don't think I'm being biased in that view.

Didn't watch MOTD as don't like watching us lose so unaware of what the pundits had to say about it.

Worrying about his own performance i reckon Lou. When he started off the season well look at him against West Brom when that player got sent off for elbowing Rodriguez. He's was mouthing off and right In the players face.

I think he genuinely knows he's not playing at the level required and is worrying about his own game.

It's sad to say macca but his time is up as our first choice right - back.
