In Malawi their FA did that back in the Bingu wa Mutharika-days. Bingu eagerly checked the Flames' FIFA ranking and at one point they cancelled a couple of exhibition matches against the Mozambique Black Mambas b/c teams around the Malawians in the ranking table had lost their matches, which meant Malawi rose a couple of notches = bonuses to the local FA bosses.

True story.

Absolutely and it’s going happen time and time again. The problem will be when the select few start complaining they can’t fit the games in and play in Europe, no doubt the season will then be halted!

They should just cancel the whole season and be done with it at this point because this is becoming a farce. Everyone will be playing three games a week for the rest of the season (four games if you've got cup commitments!) until June at this rate.

So they’ve moved one period of fixture congestion to another period as the season won’t be extended.

Not much benefit there

Don't forget next season starts earlier on 6th August due to the December World Cup.

So shorter off season.

Would have been confident of winning on Thursday, no doubt they will be buying players right, left and centre. Looking at their accounts I reckon they could spend in excess of £200m with all the profits theyve been turning and then I`m sure there will be some obscene stadium naming rights etc....

Another double defeat against them incoming again this season, then as of the summer and if they stay up which I`m sure they will they will be past us as are West Ham, Villa, Leicester and the SKY 6
