The league have opened up a can of worms here with including injuires into the criteria.

Whole thing's looking dodgier by the day. I didn't hear any mention of Covid numbers prior to their match against United last night but now they have after losing a couple of players due to injuries last night. Smells a bit.

Newcastle have fewer covid cases than Chelsea declared prior to their postponement application being rejected for the Wolves game.

Burnley have had four games postponed, Spurs, Watford and Everton now on three postponements each. It's not hard to see a scenario where the clubs relegated appeal their demotion because of the competition schedule being skewed against them.

The Premier League are making it up as they go along and the lack of clarity and communication will result in the court for arbitration for sport settling the season in July.

Should not put injuries in the same category as Covid cases!! So is this going to set a precedent all season, you can invent injuries if your main players are out to postpone

Newcastle’s application is a bit late. When Palace made a late application it was refused for being too late. How late is too late? Anyone know?

I suspect there was governmental pressure to carry on, given the - to put it mildly - cavalier attitude towards restrictions shown in England by the government.

I don’t think the clubs were ever entirely happy with the forced continuation.

There is no way looking at Newcastle, their side and bench from the Utd game they will be any worse than what we tipped up with at Chelsea!!!!

Couldn't agree more, mate.

On a side point, I wonder what the point of u-23 squads are if those players can't be used to plug gaps in the lineup or fill out benches. When you consider the resources available to premier league sides in comparison to sides lower down the pyramid it all starts to stink.
