Match Thread Everton v Notts Forest. Sun Dec 29th. 3pm

Hi guys, a bit of perspective from Forest

Forest have been magnificant under Nuno at making a game go how we want it too. Generally, every single game - we play a very tight game first half which almost always ends up 0-0, then after HT we turn it into a basketball match between 45-70, if we get in front then we will shut up shop. There are variations that happen in games but this has been our bread & butter and we have been able to do it so well because of our phenomenal defenders & excellent wingers.

I still don't think the national audience realise how good our defenders are, Milenkovic & Murillo together are genuinely world class & this Morato chap we picked up has been as good as them & is becoming a bit of a cult hero at Forest as we have conceded 1 goal in 11 appearences when he comes off the bench to shut up shop. Our success is mostly based on our defence & the ability to hold a lead comfortably.

I am sure it will be a cagey match, I am actually dreading this game more than playing Liverpool in the New Year as you guys are one of the few teams that match us physically. Good luck to you guys post Sunday!
Forest have taken the lead in 14 of their games this season... and Everton rarely come back to win from a goal down under Dyche.

Evertons run is turgid....

- 1 win in 9
- 3 wins in 17
- 8 wins in 37

Forest will have more about them than that City side on Boxing day...

Remember when we were linked with elanga with him set to come on loan, but he wasn't fond of how dyche setup his team so he opted with forest now he's thriving with a high flying forest in third so seems like he made the correct choice
Dyche and the way he sets up and plays will dissuade many more players not to join us... another reason we won`t progress under this manager.

Elanga has just come into form with 3 in his last 3. He'd not scored this season before that and a lot of fans were calling for him to be dropped. He's one of those that can look unplayable when he's on it or completely anonymous if he's not.

Our strength is in defence though. Three of our back four will be in contention for the team of the season if they carry this on (Aina, Milenkovic and Murillo). Murillo in particular is incredible and I have no idea how a player of his quality is playing for us...we're just going to enjoy him while we can as surely he'll leave in the summer. Rumours are to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Good player, would've taken him for sure.

At least Ndiaye wanted to come which is huge for this season.

Need to find 3-4 more of his type over the next few transfer windows.

This is a game we will struggle in. Sitting back against Forest will have the crowd restless and players anxious to do stupid times. If Forest score first, then that's us cooked.

Hopefully Broja gets the start liven things up a bit.

McNeill back for this? The rotation will be Young returning and more I think about it Broja probably getting an hour but aside from that it will be the third tough game in a week for nine of them so last 20 minutes will be tough if it's in the balance and going from end to end.

Forest got a deeper squad so they'll probably change 2-3 players from the start.
