Match Thread Everton v Notts Forest. Sun Dec 29th. 3pm

The Forest that were just dominated by a misfiring Spurs at home and got 3 shots on target all game?

This is Forest.

They're stumbling from game to game and somehow managing to stay on their feet.
They're making a good job of it.

I know what you're saying but the current form book doesn't suggest this is anything other than another difficult game

I think we win this because they'll commit too much to attack. We'll hand them the wings and tuck in.

Our styles match up in our favour: a tight defence in great form playing a team that might have a few wins but really dont have that much class apart from Elanga and Gibbs-White.

I'm going 2-0 Everton.

Personally, I would like to see Broja playing as a Number 10 behind DLC, to link up the play for Ndiaye McNeil etc, if fit.
It might be the key to us getting more goals and looking more threatening on the counterattack.

Dyche wont do that here. It'll be DCL 70 minutes then Broja/Beto.

I still think we can do a lot with what we have.

Doucoure is well overdue a goal...

Elanga has just come into form with 3 in his last 3. He'd not scored this season before that and a lot of fans were calling for him to be dropped. He's one of those that can look unplayable when he's on it or completely anonymous if he's not.

Our strength is in defence though. Three of our back four will be in contention for the team of the season if they carry this on (Aina, Milenkovic and Murillo). Murillo in particular is incredible and I have no idea how a player of his quality is playing for us...we're just going to enjoy him while we can as surely he'll leave in the summer. Rumours are to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.

he looks like a sunday league player physically but is an incredible centre half

Their back two are having a great season, and I can't see us apart from a lucky bounce on a set piece giving them any trouble. So it's either 1 nil them or a 0-0 dyche win

I'm confident too.

Forest are playing well but they're a mid-table squad (like Everton's) that are simply playing to their strengths and overperforming.

But that's a credit to what Nuno has done there this season.

Depends on your definition of 'dominated'. Assuming you're not watching us each week and just looking at the possession stats then yes it will look like we've been dominated. In every other metric that matters we haven't been though.

First post here and Forest fan in peace.

I agree with you, neither team scores many and we both are very solid defensively. A 0-0 and last on MOTD looks nailed on.

Welcome mate. We get a lot of ‘last on MOTD’ games.

You look good this season, hope you can keep it going (apart from against us like!) and break the monopoly of the so called top 6.
