Anyone who thinks this squad - or the management - or the tactics are good enough needs to seriously sort their head out. 50 years watching them disappoint me (except for 2-3 great years and a few near misses). We truly are a nothing team - yo-yoing from 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th with the odd 11th, 14th and last day scare. I don't think we've had a central midfield match winner perhaps since Alan Ball (yeah, I know, we've had some decent midfielders but mostly on the wing Sheedy, Steven, Andrei) the rest have been DEFENSIVE - IGG, Reid, Bracewell etc.

It's alway going backwards
We never dominate
We mess up against weak teams
We mess up in big matches
We can't win away to good sides
We throw it away in key European games..

Tired of the same old pathetic going nowhere Everton. Sort it for fhs.
Good post! I’ve been watching Everton for a similar number of years. The success across those years is a blip. Need to change so much to get even close to being competitive. However, there are examples where a turn around can happen. Man City were in Division One not many moons (Blue) ago and look at them now

I think if we can't avoid losing to a team that's been practically relegated for months, then we simply don't deserve European football next season.
That wasn't a terrible performance in my opinion but it just wasn't anywhere near good enough.

I think the problem mostly boils down to this: Carlo has spoken about how his management style is to treat the players as people first. So he's not the fire-and-brimstone type of motivator. He's more the father-figure type. But this lot of players he's inherited desperately need the first type (someone like Big Dunc), because they utterly lack any self-motivation. Without someone to kick them up the bum, they're useless. You can see that in the difference between how they played those few games under Big Dunc versus games like today.

But that's not an indictment of Carlo. It's an indictment of the players. The fix is not to change the manager yet again - we have Carlo Ancelotti, who could we possibly get that's better - it's to get the kind of players in who don't depend on the manager to light a fire up them every single game. It absolutely sucks to say yet again, but this is a problem that can only be fixed in the transfer market.

This team packed it in once Champions League was out of reach. Yeah, they gave lip service to a desire to qualify for "Europe," but they didn't really mean it. They didn't really want Conference League or maybe even Europa.

It's wonderful supporting the team in the top four Divisions with the

LONGEST WAIT (of all NINETY TWO teams) since their last title/Cup/play-off win/trophy/promotion of ANY DESCRIPTION

Check it out if you don't believe me.

No matter how lowly the Rochdales, Oldhams, Tranmeres, Swindons etc are they've all won something since 1995.
Would love to be a yoyo club at least its abit interesting. Makes me laugh all the worry about seating for bmd, it will be half empty if they continue on this road

Digne. 0 votes. About right

When was the last time he put in a good cross or corner? After that performance I wouldn’t be arsed if he left this summer

Remember him being rinsed in that FA Cup game at home? He hasn’t been as good but he has no one overlapping for him either. Not much protection when defending in a lot of game or ability to work on a partnership this season with the changing of formations etc.

He’s just one of many who haven’t been at it for a while.

We will get a satisfactory explanation from Carlo about how it happened. Three shrugs and a raised eyebrow. He has probably sent his application into Real Madrid where his reputation remains without blemish.

Penny for moshiri’s thoughts this evening
I thought exactly the same thing.
Blow half a billion and be worse off than when you started.
Couple of experiments put to bed though.
So called Top Top managers can only manage galacticos.
It's not the Goodison crowds fault like commentators always used to say
