The problem is quite simplistic is that there's no pressure on our players, from either the manager or anyone else at the club, they know they can eff up without any consequences. Ever since Moshiri came in, we've largely got downhill, even in Koemann's first season we put in some of the worst performances I've ever seen as a Blue.
We spent huge amounts of money in 2017 and somehow ended up needing Allardyce to save us and then we bring in Marco Silva, because he won a few games at Watford, sack him and replace him with Ancelotti who hasn't done any better than Allardyce, who was hated by our supporters.
I know some people will say this is crazy, but after tonight's performance it makes sense, it's almost as if our players are happy with us being rubbish. How many times have we messed up winnable games, that would of got us somewhere. Lost to Reading in 2011, lost to the RS in 2012, Wigan in 2014, lost to an average Palace and Southampton that prevented us from finishing in the top 4. Lost 2 Semi Finals to an average Man City and Man United side.
We've continually bottled derby games against some of the worst Liverpool sides in living memory, couldn't even beat their kids, when Klopp wanted to be out the cup, it's an absolute joke. Couldn't even beat them in 2018, when they didn't even care about the game, failed to create a proper chance in 2019 at GP against them. Carragher said this a few years ago, that he was amazed that our players wanted to befriend him in the tunnel and I still remember when Gerrard elbowed Barry and the only player to stand up to him as Distin. I think a lot of our players see us as Liverpool's little brothers and there's no desire to really change that.
