I'm pretty relaxed about this game. Derby wins tend to have that effect. Truth is, given the defeats of Leicester and West Ham, if we cannot win against a weakened Southampton, we have no business in Europe. To get into Europe, you need consistency. As much as I have loved, Loved, LOVED the derby win, the reality is that you qualify for nothing if you are up and down. If we win, anything remains possible (even top four). If we lose, we will still be in with a sniff of the Europa, but, let's face it, the pattern of inconsistency leads any rational analyst to the view that we're not good enough for anything more than the odd big win. We're, still, a rollercoaster and will be until Carlo can boil the frogs who consistently let him down.

Next 2 games will shape our league season. Should be winning and must if we want European football.

Simple as that

Yeah with Arsenal, Villa and Spurs all winning the next 2 are massive games for us.

Win both and the pressure is off going away to Chelsea. Really hope we show some ruthlessness and dominate Saints/WBA as we have the players to do it all comes down to attitude/desire.

All day yesterday I waited for kick off.

Then I realised it’s tomorrow.
on one hand a Monday night game takes the pressure off the weekend and I can get some jobs done around the house, or even relax. On the other hand it feels like we aren't playing this weekend but have two midweek games. This almost feels like a game in hand when you look at the table tonight. The whole thing is somewhat disconcerting and I would prefer not to oblige the TV oligarchs by playing MNF again!

Spurs treating Burnley with the contempt they deserve today, i want us to do this more often.

West Brom 5-2 Brighton 4-2 Leicester and Liverpool away 2-0. Our other 8 league wins have been by 1 goal. Alot of squeaky bum matches, i want 2 good thumping victories this week.

Im weirdly confident about tomorrow its more the midweek game against WBA that worries me slightly. Allardyce will want to get one over on us and they are fighting for their lives.
