I’m just not a fan of this system. Don’t think anybody has played badly, but it’s so sluggish unless both full-backs are bombing on.

Genuinely, a diamond can work in FIFA, and probably Das SPL. That’s about it

Works when you have a pacey wide player on the right whereas we have Siggurdsson/Gomes.

We’re doing it purposefully. A frantic game suits them more than us, so we’re slowing it down when we’re in possession.

When we pass it quickly they can't handle us. Come out flying get the second and they are done.

This, 100%. I don’t think it’s helped by a diamond - we just don’t have the players for it even if all were fit.

but just pick up the play, if that means going long to Dom, do it, because he’s causing havoc. Get it forward and we’ve got enough on the pitch to get them open

I really like the 4-3-1-2. We need a better RB and one of the 3 midfielders to consistently get the ball forward but I think this is a system we should run with.

Our transition play is slow

Doucoure and Gomes appear to be under instructions to NEVER turn with the ball and move upfield. Every time they get it, they're facing Pickford and they give it back to the centre backs.
