What a night! Ref should have had a Tottenham shirt on, he was terrible. Kane is a diving cheating piece of scum, but no doubt the sending off was right. Up until then Doucs was in the running for MOTM. How we never won that is a mystery, even going down to 10 we were still the better side. I sit right at the GS end of the Top Balcony, so I did not get a clear view of the penalty incident.

Fantastic effort by Keane for the goal, generally he had a strong game and he is always better playing alongside a stronger centre half partner - Tarks, my MOTM.

It's a pity Kane isn't on my Christmas card list because I've been robbed of the pleasure of crossing his name off it. Undoubtedly he is a cracking goal scorer, which means he shouldn't have to resort to being a crying cheat. In that incident he fouled Gray and followed it up with a nasty kick, then went on to foul Doucoure leading to the "Handbags at dawn" and sending off.

Anyway, whinge over. A real fighting performance, specially after the penalty, so hopefully no shouts of "cowards" on here. Keane is my MoM, not only for his goal (not quite as good as Jag's, but getting there), but he also defended strongly despite the unfortunate penalty. I'm feeling a lot more hopeful after that performance.

Of course it's the board's and the DoF's fault for spurning what little money we had, but that doesn't excuse professional players not being able to work a goalkeeper.

We just saw Michael bloody Keane lash in a 25-yard thunderbolt ffs, yet we've got seasoned international players who think passing along the floor to the goalkeeper is going to end up with us scoring.
These seasoned players are not goal scorers though. Dyche made it clear we had to take a lot more shots due to lack of goals and goalscorers and that is what they are doing.

Thank God for Dyche. His work has been truly transformational. It's so easy to pick out the deficiencies in last night's performance, particularly in front of goal, but performances are night and day compared to Lampard's tenure.
Let's not forget how bad we were and how far we've come, in just a few weeks.
Dyche and his team will keep us up, I have no doubt. 💪💪💪

The kind of slap that Doucoure dished out to Kane happens quite a lot these days, but when the player doesn't go to ground its only ever a yellow and sometimes not even that. In that moment and the ensuing 5-10 minute period where we needed to regather our composure the three points were lost. Stupid from Doucoure, Spurs were going nowhere until that point and I think Kane was trying to stir something up, streetwise from him tbf

Other than that an encouraging performance. Thought we mixed up high pressing football with some good backs-to-the-wall defending when we didn't have the ball, and similarly a direct approach with some good possession football when we did have the ball. Good variety to our play

It's glaringly obvious, but my goodness we need a focal point up top. Simms surely has to start at Goodison for the run in. Can see why away from home we might want more pace in behind to stretch teams, but we really need a target for our crossing and to play into feet when we are more dominant at home and need to get up the pitch or create some pressure on the opposition goal.

Many good performances. Onana is clearly a cut above the rest of the squad but Iwobi MOM for me; work rate, physicality with his back to goal, dribbling and ability to get us forward. Been a revelation this season in amongst the mess

….well, it’s been well discussed. Thelwell failed to bring in an effective striker in TWO windows. It’s not rocket science when folk on here highlighted DCLs fragility from the outset, it’s not rocket science when we all pointed out the need for an effective back-up.

We are an impotent attacking force. We know that, it’s just a matter of whether we can fight an uphill battle to avoid relegation despite the incompetence of our DoF and Board. We are in there with a shout but I fear we have to get an unexpected win to stay up before the season ends.
I have a lot of respect of your opinions, Eggs, but we have four matches against teams in the bottom nine, from which the three relegated are expected to come. Another twelve points would almost certainly be enough.

We may not win all of them, but I can see points in our home game v Fulham and even the other home matches.

Man Utd are in a bad run of form and I haven't written that fixture off.

Does feel like we could have nicked that if not for Doucoure losing his head.
In the circumstances there’s was a lot of positives as under the previous manager we would have crumbled and prob lost 2 or 3 nil.
