Trouble I, having atm is I’m an Everton fan and obviously I want us to win every game, but I don’t rate Silva one bit I think he’s a poor manager and want him out ASAP, but these results do keep his head above water,so I’m supporting the players and the team but not really the manager.
...yep, I was surprised and delighted to see the Holgate/Mina partnership given an outing. Saying that, I don’t think Holgate is anywhere near the answer but he has to be an option ahead of Keane for the reason you outline.
Top six or a cup final, both should be real possibility with this squad now. I'll take either. But neither will not be acceptable for me and he can go and manage Russia or like...

Managers and players come and go, it’s all about results and the club.

I do think Silva is on borrowed time though but won’t be replaced until the summer.
I think if he gets a half decent run untill Christmas, I think that will keep him in his job until the summer, then I think depending on success they may rethink his position. What he needs and I don’t think he’s got it in him is a five game league winning run, that would propel us to where I think we should be. It’s very very unlikely to happen though.

Radio Merseyside's coverage of this game was dismal.

Commentator and sidekick(was it Ronnie Goodlass?) lacked any enthusiasm or passion throughout the game, talking in a monotone voice and just poking constant negative jibes, whilst telling us about a hundred times that they will be at the RS tonight from 7pm.

Saw the highlights on YouTube and couldn't believe it was the same game.

With the run of fixtures coming up then he would be doing very well to pick up 5 on the spin.

You are right though, it’s all about lack of consistency and the Jekyll and Hyde performances and that is what will do for him in the end.

Only bright spots were the goals. Very good finish for the second goal.
It was turgid in the first half. Play was way too slow.
It was ok in the second half. But only ok.
We're way off where we expected to be, both points wise and performance wise. Not enjoyable to watch at the moment.

Apart from being in the next round...which is after all, the basic name of the game, did we see any Greenshoots, any Baby Steps taken, a light at the end of the tunnel, anybody spot some swallows flying about amongst the pigeons that might hint we've turned a corner.

Maybe the Spurs game will tell us more.

Dreadful first half, went all out second and left it very open at the back almost Martinez esc openness, just a good job Watford are absolutely dogger in defence and attack.

4/10 expecting to get beat comfortably by spurs Sunday

To be fair mate for 60 minutes I'd have been the same.

As stated in an earlier post, I had a prior engagement - babysitting my granddaughter - and I made the choice to watch this match instead.

I must say that I was on the verge of changing my mind at half time. It was absolutely woeful. Second half , while not perfect, made up for it
and I'm glad I stuck with it.
