This.Poor performance but we’re in the hat. Can’t be arsed dissecting it further.
Is it just me who thinks it was only the first half that was turgid and second half we were actually alright?
Lots of people making out the full 90 was eye torture.
Been out with my son tonight so was only able to get updates of goals.
Pleased to get through to the next round.
Holgate’s pace at the back is what stands out most. Him and Mina deserve a run together if Yerry can shake off the injury....made hard work of it, but the important thing was getting through. A lacklustre first half during which we never looked liked getting behind either full back. The half-time substitution was correct. Better 2nd half with the tempo increased, their goalkeeper much busier.
Mina was terrific, he’s looking the real leader and effective defender I always thought he’d be. His knee injury is a concern. Despite a poor start, Iwobi probed and looked most likely to unlock their defence. Gomes and Delph were fine.
I went for Holgate as my MoM, he was adequate defensively but he’s competitive and plays like the game matters. I admit to not being his biggest fan and I doubt he’ll ever be a regular first teamer but the game will probably be best remembered for his first Everton goal.
