Heard Martinez post match interview and he mentioned we're missing Osman and/or Pienaar who "can play between the lines". Well, yes they can when fit (or could up to a couple of years ago). They're both approaching the end of their shelf life. And it was up to the manager to bring in suitable replacements if thats the way he wants to play tactically. He can't rely on 30+ year old players to play a full season. And where's McCarthy!!

Nah, the captain on the pitch is in charge. If Baines was the nominated penalty taker, then the captain should have been on the scene sufficiently to ensure that that happened. Personal preference doesn't come in to it (i.e. Mirallas DOES NOT upstage anyone over taking a penalty). It's basic. It's Sunday League basic.

Disagree.

So do Carragher and Neville, both of whom said they would not have been anywhere near the action when the penno was being taken.

You just take it for granted the penno will be taken by the designated kicker.

But to argue over whether Jags was in any way to blame is to let Mirallas off the hook.

He lifted the ball like a spoilt brat taking his ball home from the playground if he wasn't allowed to score a goal.

I have seen nowt like it since the day Neville sat on the pitch at half time sulking about sommat.

I think Roy Keane would have noticed it. Love him or hate him he would have sorted that out pronto. "Kev give me the ball you dozy [Poor language removed] or i'll box the head off you" Poor Jags, not really his fault tonight but he is supposed to be our Leader. Took him a long time to tie his laces

Chicoazul. (As far as opponents go it's not a terrible proposition) Is probably the start of the funniest paragraph that I have ever read.
I couldn't enter your 'Peyabs' poll, as I don't know what it is. Also, I sincerely hope that you are wrong about Seamus Coleman going to Man Utd, because it means that the Fat Controller will pocket another £20M from us. But worst of worsts Tony Hibbert will be first choice right back again

I remember Moyes questioning Mirallas's work rate and team ethic a few years ago to howls of derision from us fans.
As talented as he is, and although he does blow hot and cold, a focused Kev can be unplayable. Sadly though Kevin Mirallas plays for Kevin Mirallas and that has been crystal clear most of this season and especially tonight when 3 points where an absolute necessity.

There have been a few occasions this season where Kev has been giving his all trying his best for the team and club mate.

No. We needed an extra striker. Besic had just been booked, and we couldn't afford him getting another yellow. Also he had run himself ragged, by far our best player on the night, but was beginning to slow down. Second brave decision by Roberto of the night, the first hauling that ego on legs off at half time.
