An argument could be made that we would have stood a better chance of winning today had we done just that, or at least mixed it up a little bit more.

Also, how much more often during the season are we gonna keep saying "we were unlucky"? Truth is, in most cases we aren't, we just aren't playing well enough.

Just think this type of formation requires a belter midfielder to link the midfield and attack but with our funds were just not gonna be able to do that

Martinez needs to have his team **** this left right backwards forwards left right backwards passing right off immediately. What's the point of playing it in a triangle if the ball ends up with the person who first had it in exactly the same amount of space as when he first released the ball?

It drags the opposing team out of position to create openings. Confuses them to where the attack is going to come from. Instead of just being direct and charging forwards all the time, but some of that can mixed in is also good.

Martinez might be feel more urgency to do some transfer business after today. Hope he's got some non-Wigan targets lined up, maybe from his contacts in Spain, although wouldn't say no to Shawn Maloney.

Unlucky last week as well. **** happens, teams lose games they should win, and we haven't even lost a game or even looked like losing one yet.

The manager's job is to set up a side in terms of tactics and formation that will create chances for his side and limit chances for the opposition. It is then down to the individual players to perform in the final phases (i.e. attacking and defensive thirds).

Yep. I always thought this was Martinez's biggest task: taking our support with him - nursing them off their staple diet of 'percentage' football. Mind you, I never thought the revolt would be in full swing two games in...and unbeaten.
