yes, you are right mate. I let my happiness at 3 points get the better of me for a second. It WILL NOT happen again

Good man, after a victory I prefer to concentrate on the fact that the winner was scored by a player that won't be with us next season, so technically I dont even class today as a victory. You should see my alternative table, we're safe, but only by 2 points.

I'll just repeat what I tweeted after the game..

It's so frustrating watching us play keep ball around teams for most of the game then just not have a clue as soon as we get to the 18 yard box. Honestly, imagine what we would be like with a midfielder who can thread passes at will and a quality striker who's constantly moving off the ball. We really, really need to work on playing through defenses and getting efforts away on target at the very least. The amount of efforts on target we register in a match, for all of the ball we have in the oppositions half of the pitch, is simply woeful.

That said, absolutely made up when we bagged there, and especially so that it was Rom. Hopefully that sets him up for the rest of the season - he came off the bench and scored in the reverse fixture in his debut so let's hope that it's a good sign.

Was Naismith anyone else's MOTM? It's weird, I don't consider him an out-and-out striker but up the very top of the pitch is his best position by far. Always has defenders on their toes and will run them down, get his foot in, and win headers all day long. Top game from him today. I'd also say that Stones & Pienaar were also shouts with the former in particular I'd go as far as say I'm hoping he gets a run in the team over Jags now. Young John is far better on the ball and his defending is sensational at times, makes it look easy. Definitely a Martinez player for the long run.

All in all, very important 3 points, time to start playing catch up now.
.
your comments on John Stones are well considered. What a player

We weren't great today, but we weren't poor. Poor was the Anfield derby. Poor was Wigan in the cup last season. If we'd played in those games like we played today, I bet we'd have seen different scorelines.

Anyway, we won. How can any blue not be happy after a win? Baffling.

Depends on the manner of the win. Plenty of times under moyes I was unhappy with general play despite winning (happy with the points but unhappy with the manner of victory) because you could see flaws and weaknesses and desperate defending. Now I see control and more thought in our play.

I just say what I see mate: a team getting back to full heath with winnable games in the pipeline.

4th is gone like, but I'd love to see us get 5th secured, which would be a massive effort in our first season playing football again.
Beautifully veiled dig, Davek.

I'm never unhappy how we win. Sure, I like nice football, and much prefer it. Just don't care how we win as long as we win.

We were great against Sunderland with ten men, but I was still miserable after the game, and I was fist-pumping today at the final whistle.
