Why do you have a Flush on the ceiling??

You expecting some acrobats from the Chinese state circus to take a dump up there!

Haha, oh the humour. No it is one of those plastic smooth panels that I have fitted. Some of us do update our homes. You still using the outdoor in the yard?

Another game at home where the first half was tight yet Roberto tweaked a few things and we come out the 2nd half and pretty much dominated. The left hand side was as good as for a long time today and no surprise the goal came from there.

I think McGeady's going to be a very good player for us.

No mate - I move house every 2 years and have someone to do all that sort of stuff for me.

No it's not some sort of witness protection gig!

Good luck to you mate, too old and not enough income to move house. I am now a pensioner so would you be if the first Everton game you watched was in the 1962/63 season.

I sometimes get a flush if I drink wine on an early afternoon. I tend to avoid work on my ceiling when I am drinking though

I'm not too far behind you mate -hopefully Mrs Toffeelover is satisfied with the diy job and you get a well deserved rest for next weekend when we hopefully smash the gooners.

My nomadic lifestyle is nothing glamorous or income related its purely down to being in the Army for the last 32 years - I'd love to do a bit of diy on some of the holes they put us in - simply not worth it.

Best get back on thread - I've already been told off by esk today.

Stones man of the match for me today. Pips Mccarthy in my eyes due to his youth and inexperience and probably my expectations.

Pros from today:-
Lukaku is back
Nais proved his commitment to the cause (again)
Stones is just superb (1 dodgy pass in the 1st half aside)
McCarthy probably carried on running home.
Mcgeady's tracking back on about 75 mins.

Cons:-
A better team would have punished us in the 2nd half.
Ref
Need to play like we did after we scored from the off
Howard's kicking.
Deulofeu was pants, apart from his run in the 1st half.
Coleman had no protection from Gerri.
The lad behind me stunk of piss

Today was always going to be difficult; what you see is what you get with West Ham and their approach is disciplined and is primarily an approach which looks for points on the road or smash and grab victories. Let's take into account this is a Hammers' team that beat Southampton the week previously and picked up a point at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago and are a team with a sense of belief and confidence, whereas we are on the back of two disappointing defeats against Spurs and Chelsea. Thought that a lot of the play went through Barry today, who I thought was good as per usual as was young Stones, whose assurance and confidence on the ball fits in perfectly with the Martinez way. Naismith has came on leaps and bounds this season; once the butt of many cruel jokes last season, now a player who technically is no Gareth Bale but in terms of enthusiasm and effort is terrific. Think he's best utilised with another centre forward because he doesn't have the speed or physique to lead the line but his effort and hunger has made him go up considerably in my estimation. Perfect time to get Lukaku back ahead of the cup tie as well as some significant fixtures which are likely to be frustrating affairs where that piece of incision is required and conviction, which we've lacked in previous weeks.
Great win, good performance, roll on gooners! Allez Allez oh!

Andy Carroll went down, grabbed his head so the ref had to stop for a head injury - when we were in a decent position. Then Mr. £35m decides it is his foot that is hurt. Player at fault for that one, being sly.

As much as he is a donkey, I don't think he was faking a head injury...think we was essentially holding his head like "not my ankle again" because he'd slightly rolled it on landing.

MoTM: Stones or McCarthy, can't go wrong with either

Pros: We were able to rest some players and have more of a rotation while not having to change how we go about the game, Baines looked lively and most of our better play was funneled through the left, while some players did not have their best game there was no lack of effort from anyone

Cons: While Gerry improved as he knocked off some rust, he was wasteful a bunch and more worrisome he made Coleman a non threat. I still say that we need to keep working him in because when he is on form we have no one like him and he can single handily change a game, we still look like we cant break through a bus. How many matches are we going to see 70% possession, 17 attempts, 2 on target?
