Just finished watching it as I've been busy with the kids.

Best game we've played for a long while. Actual goal scoring chances. An actual goal, could have been more but for two very dodgy calls, one on lukaku and one on naismith at the corner flag.

Happy to not get beaten by a team of groks but unsure whether more games is a good thing.

Very subdued post-match interview by Romelu and Phil. Head down; eyes away from camera; closed answers.

That's worrying as after everything, regardless of the whole ninety minutes, they should be coming away with some confidence from that.
Saw that and I agree. They were almost apologetic about scraping a result. Couldn't even look up when talking etc. Worrying. Where's the spirit of last season gone.

Seems there is two camps tonight

The much better crew and the we were still utter sh1te crew
The defence looked dodgy all game and we still gave possession away far to cheaply on occaisions. On the other hand therre was some good approach play and the players looked prepared to fight. Lukaku looked more like the striker we had on loan last year and Besic looks an astute signing.
Wasn't expecting us to suddenly come into top form so compared to recent performances I'm fairly happy. Still work to be done like.

Distin is finished as we all knew already, his 'marking' for Collins' goal was pathetic, especially for such an 'experienced' player.

But if you're not happy with that performance after the dross of the last month you'll never be happy. Some serious positives to take out of that, one of which was NOT LOSING. We were never going to play them off the park, and I'm glad we scored after fat headed Sam parked the bus, bet that wiped the smirk off his face the tit.

I reckon that's because many are focusing on the poor patch we had after conceding when the players' heads dropped and forgetting the first half when we were pretty decent in all honesty. West Ham weren't bad either. They battled hard all game and did the basics right, as you'd expect from an Allardyce side. Overall, it's an ok showing, imo.

Seems a lot of people tonight are satisfied with a mediocre performance tonight. Seems strange that. Roberto went one step further and described us as phenomenal in some aspects. Wow at least he has now managed to lower expectation

I think they're mindful that the crowd at Goodison still isn't happy and didn't want to be too happy as after all it's still only a draw at home against West Ham. A team we should be beating relatively easily.

I think it's more a case of people being satisfied that there are signs of improvement. We created some decent chances with fast flowing football, albeit in small patches.

One thing I just wanted to mention which I noticed. When the ball came across to Oviedo and he sliced it ( when he tried to volley a difficult shot in about the 85th minute ) the camera cuts to Martinez and he's talking to Oviedo and very calmly saying take your time, don't panic, be clear or something to those effects. A lot of managers would be highly pissed off but you can see he's trying to coax the players into finding form. A few minutes later Oviedo takes his time and drills a ball across goal and we score. Not saying the managers words had played a part, just something I noticed.

Look it was far from perfect, but it may build confidence with the injury time equaliser - Still a bad formation played by RM as in midfieldI was baffled on who was playing where. R M has to get the right balance back in the side or the same problems will occur!
