Nice to see the interaction between the front 4....

Richarlison is dangerous in the middle, but they can all drift in that formation which was great to see & a welcome addition, Walcott was superb he was on fire from the off & unlucky not to score....

Davies & Gomes in midfield ran the show & Mina at Centre back controlled the defence....

Much better from Silva he has found a formation with the players required to really produce some lovely football....

Our front 4 worked well when we beat WHU away from home last season.

The problem is the inconsistency.

West Ham looked as though they turned up expecting nothing like the tempo that Everton set and, crucially, maintained.

There were some misplaced passes from Davies and Iwobi, but they each reacted by chasing the ball down and their pressing had Rice, Noble and Lanzini visibly rattled. There can be no going back to the lethargy of Schneiderlin and Sigurdsson now, and the right-back slot should be Sidibie's to lose.

I don't normally like Richarlison up front, but with the amount of space that West Ham allowed him, it was a shrewd pick by Silva. It felt as though he was more involved in the first half than he'd been in all the previous games combined. Bernard coming back in showed how much Digne has been missing him, too.

Until we get spanked by Brighton then knocked out of the cup by Watford. It's all too predictable.

It was very encouraging from where I sat, the best I have seen this season so much more positive....

If we can continue with the same attitude & energy shown at goodison on Saturday then maybe we can turn our away form round also...

The new formation is key though imo...

Tom Davies & Gomes also linked up well in midfield & complimented each other...

Finally we’ll enough to be able to watch the full match now.
Should be an entertaining match considering no nerves about the result.

That Watford game is the big one, with so many big teams out they will have an eye on a Wembley as well
I disagree. They are bottom and previous round changed their whole team. Staying up is far more important to them. They have two home games either side and Norwich and Burnley after.

Watched 35mins so far. West Ham not had a sniff. Iwobi threatening but just taking a touch too many. Richarlison finding space.
We lose the ball and everyone is straight on trying to get it back. Davies doing a good job of not dilly dallying and getting a forward pass off first time. Walcott a regular threat.
Super first half

Difference has been Richarlison in the middle. Knows where to be, holds it well, defenders fear him. Helps everybody around him so much.
