And yet some would turn their nose up at Moyes coming back......

At this point in the season, after almost a full season in charge it has to be on Lampard. The team doesnt have injuries to use as excuses, tough opponents to use as excuses, or lack of time and training. At this point if hes not getting a tune from the players and cant figure out how to beat the worst teams in the league, I think hes got to go. Results speak and by now there have been enough of them to know its not only not getting better, it seems to be getting worse.
We have now lost 4 in a row to 3 of the worst teams in the league, at least 1, and maybe 2 of which are likely to be relegated.

A little frustrating as I thought we did show significant improvement out of possession. That was a real press today which is a welcome improvement. As a result we didn't give up 16+ shots. The second goal stunk but was a result of pushing too high to chase and not the system failing. Same with conceding from a corner. The general play was better and that will matter going forward.

But the play with the ball was as bad as ever. I don't really know how that was supposed to work. It obviously didn't. Most of our threat was set plays and while that's also a bit of a welcome improvement you simply can't have the ball as much as we did and do so little. I don't understand what Gordon, McNeil and Iwobi were meant to do to be threatening. I get that they all didn't play well, but I can't really get around to blaming them when I see a set up that is so misguided. While better players can help it won't fix this.

I didn’t want Howe and still wouldn’t want him as I don’t think he would be a good fit for us, but Newcastle took the risk and it has clicked for then up to now, perhaps we are over thinking it and someone like Dyche might have similar effect, I’m happy to have a non glamorous manager if we can show some fight.

On another note I'm totally giving Vinagre,Coleman, Davies,Doucs, McNeill,Cannon,Holgate and Godfrey a start away to City, we are getting battered regardless and at least our starting heroes should be fit for Brighton.

Wasters

He wasn’t a strong enough character to manage us, Frank isn’t either. I did think Benitez might have been but was awful, Carlo got by having experience but never really set the world alight here, Big Sam had the right character but isn’t a good enough manager, Dunc also had the character but not enough experience I could go back further. But what we really need is a younger Moyes again strong character and a good managing brain. Where is that manager?

Lampard is obviously not good enough - but the standard of the squad is appalling. If anything we have made it worse since he got here - certainly going forward.

Wolves - bottom of the table, yet they can still bring on Nunez, Jimenez, traore , bloke who achieved the winner. We have one striker out and have nothing to change the game.

Didn't you read what I just wrote, just because Howe’s working out good there doesn‘t mean he would have worked here, I'm confident he would fail here not a good fit. If I had the choice today of Dyche and Howe it would be Dyche due to him being a stronger character who wouldn’t take crap from the players, that have been getting away with to much for to long.
