Start browning ahead of Hibbo from now on thanks RM.

I think it is very very vital Rom gets game time against paderborn and even in a behind closed doors friendly. We need him fully fit and sharp for Leicester.
 
first half poor Hibbo was poor and let me say Stones was as bad he had plenty of time to get rid of hibbos pass , he also turn his arse to Nolito shot have went in off him, will have to up it big time if he is to get into the first 11 when the prem starts.

My thoughts are that we were very poor today and I dont think losing is a good habit to have going into the new season. And quite why the likes of Mirallas and Lukaku were not in the fold and certain others really makes me wonder if we are going to be ready in time for leicester.
 
for me if colemans not fit = stones at right back !
Mcgeady got better ! nice to hear he was distraught after his showing last weekend !
Gibbo and Mccarthy looked good
Besic = Pirlo :-)
Naismith is not a centre forward who can lead the line by himself ! if kone and lukaku arent fit we need someone else !
Barkley took the game seriously in the 2nd half and looked good !

Could have sworn I seen him slot against Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool for us too like?
 

People need to take their blinkers off. Yes, Hibbert was very poor in the first half but Stones was worse. In fact in the first half I think McGeady was probably the only player who could hold his head up.

The second half was much better. Barkley moved further forward and became a threat. Stones was much improved,Duffy was impressive as was Browning and Gibson made the whole lot tick. Besic is going to be a seriously good player,but needs to get certain things out of his game or he will spend more time suspended than playing.

Preseason has shown just how dependent we are on Lukaku and that is a worry.
 
For me:

Negs:
Hibbert poor play all round which left Stones trying too hard - pretty much the cause for all 3 goals to varying extent
Baines - Not looked our best LB all preseason so far
Osman- forced Barkley out of his best position and didn't provide anything
Naismith: couldn't hit a barn door tonight - could have had 4 or 5 ended with 0

Positives:
Besic - Lovely touches all over the park, committed but not overly reckless in the tackle, not going to back down to anyone and almost scored a cracker

Barkley: Poor first half too deep and couldn't get on the ball but 2nd half was driving us forward often with lovely turns and strength didn't have his shooting boots on

Browning: played well at LB - got forward well and didn't allow them anything
Distin: looked really comfortable on the ball
Gibson: looked keen and was always wanting the ball - good to see him back on the park
Duffy: comfortable - I think he has played fairly well all preseason - hopefully ahead of Alcaraz now

We played poorly 1st half - our shape and defensive set up was appalling and we had no link up play up the pitch. Celta though were pressing insanely and really rattled us.

2nd Half: we had more purpose and shape - and took control of the game - just lacked finishing
 
What we all have to remember is ...the fact that Pre Season friendlies ... are just that.We have (give or take) half of our starting 11 on the pitch in the first half.The second half we have the rest.Mix that in with a bit of the youth squad and it ain't half bad.It's just a warm up exercise that also gives Roberto a chance to see what is coming up through the ranks.BETIS battered us off the park at Goodison last year......... and we won.Friendlies mean Jack IMO.
