4-3-3 has extra body in the middle so can dominate the centre more, 4-2-3-1 has two deep lying players who by pass the middle of the field in a way by feeding the three attackers behind the striker.
any update on his intended Goodison move?...I'll check over in the other threadWasn't it Ox?
yea im shocked its that bad.
but hes young , breakthrough season and all that.
defo an area he has to work on over the next few years.
lol lolHibbert has actually lost a yard of pace which, given that he only had two feet of pace to begin with, means that if he tries to stand still he would actually be moving backwards
Glad you got home on the train ok mateJust got home, had a very enjoyable evening.
The things to take away;
- Gibson looked very comfortable in the deep-sitting midfielder role, he'll definitely play there next season.
- Besic looked very classy and very fiery again, very impressed with what we're seeing. He'll play in the McCarthy role.
- Hibbert looks very near the end, he was absolutely slaughtered by their skills at times. Too slow and no ball ability for this team. Sorry Tony, but you're not good enough anymore.
- Naismith is absolutely not a striker, he can't be playing there in any game next season. Doesn't have the pace, presence or skill to beat centre-halves. Definitely need to buy a back-up striker.
- McGeady was patchy again. Look good at times, rubbish in others. Think he's trying too hard personally.
- Stones had a nightmare first-half but looked a better after the break. Just a bad day at the office, hopefully learn a few things from it.
- Duffy doesn't look much cop, think we'd be better moving him on. Better options than him I'm afraid.
- Tyias Browning looked very decent, hope he gets some more game time.
Overall, the result means nowt but still, we're at the point now where the players should be very close to full-fitness and performing to their usual standards. Celta Vigo ripped us to bits at times and it showed the limitations of several players. Hopefully Martinez has had a good look at this and other pre-season games and has realised what we still need. Still a couple of players short.
It's just the usual suspects with their annual pre-season predictions of doom and gloom.I find the prospect of sorting through 57 pages of matchday thread absolutely unthinkable. Could someone provide me a list of posters who are twitching nervously/writing off our season already so they can be negged appropriately?
