Was a little worried beforehand what type of Everton would 'turn up' today in front of our new owner. Well the players and the fans did the club proud. What an atmosphere and what an introduction for moshiri to Everton!!! Saw the club and its fans at its very best. What a day to be an evertonian

Martinez got it spot on today. It was so much better to win ugly rather than be 'the entertainers' today.

Hopefully this can be a proper turning point and not another false dawn like City game at Goodison.
Let's hope so. Despite thinking it probably won't happen, I want Bob to realise that we, the fans, don't mind the team turning ugly once it is (sort of) comfortably ahead, and therefore let it happen and become not only the best Everton manager since Howard Kendal, but lead us to both domestic and European glory. I really do, honest.

Well that was boss. Much better that it was tight and cagey. It was a good plan to be cautious to ensure we did not throw the game away in 30 mad minutes early on like versus Wigan. Players dug in, rode our luck with the Costa chance and our own special talents stepped up at the perfect time. Subs perfect today!
Great vocal support too!!

Even though I feel pretty rough from the rather large consumption of beer yesterday, nothing can dampen my spirits after last night.

It was the performance that we needed: tenacious; gritty; excellent work rate and importantly people willing to put their body on the line.

The ol' lady was rocking from the start and our players ferocity on the pitch just added to this as the game went on to make a special evening.

For the neutral it may not have been the most enthralling based on the limited chances, but for me it was truly entertaining from the outset.

From the back to the front the players did their duties impeccably, with a strong defence, powerful midfield and Rom holding the ball up well.

And Rom's goals were just sublime and once he'd scored his first I just knew it was our day as the lads were showing no sign of capitulation.

Simply, the hangover is undoubtedly worth it today just so I could flavour the amazing evening we had last night.

In every paper this morning about Costa biting Barry, wonder if the F.A will look at it, they have to I think.

Don't think he really bit him. He did a stack of really shifty things last night, but he looked to have bailed out at the last moment.

Couldn't care less either, because Everton are boss for the week.
