Well summarised, he might improve with the ball but at the minute to me he looks pretty limited.

Stones lools limited when he plays rb but is also the best ch in the squad, lets judge the lad when he plays his proper position

good effort lads. got totally the wrong ref there, made the match much duller than it could have been. i reckon it would take me a few months effort to be a UEFA licensed ref, jesus, they're all just utterly terrible.

good performances from garbutt and kone. barry, alcaraz and pienaar were all a bit tosh if we're being honest. so tired of our experienced players letting down this club and it's young talent week in week out.

No more OTT than anyone suggesting that simply because he's actually managed to play 90 minutes for once, he's somehow worth starting ahead of Lukaku. He's not scored, and that's a striker's most important job.

Kone may well BECOME competition for Lukaku over the next six or eight weeks, as he starts putting together a string of appearances and maybe scores a few goals, but he isn't competition YET. If you want to disagree, that's fine. But who do you think will start the next game?

....it's not so much competition as option. Last season we had no cover for Lukaku, no option from the bench when we needed something different. Kone provides this.

It makes no difference how old he is and that he hasn't registered a goal in 280 minutes of football. He is a professional footballer who plays in a position that Lukaku plays in. Rom see's him in training and in a sense it's like an extra signing. Of course he is competition for Lukaku.

Kone has looked hungry, determined and eager to impress and get his Everton career up and running... finally.

Is that your full, complete definition of "competition"? if so, we can sign someone from Kidderminster who plays striker and iNCREASE the competition at the club.

Competition comes from multiple players putting in good performances, and in a striker's case "good" performances include goals. They are obviously going to come from Kone at some point, but UNTIL THEY DO he is not really competition, becuase ain't nobody picking a striker who doesn't score over one that does.

Always feels a little annoying to lose a competitive game though doesn't it, even if was worth nothing.

we can, which is why i said finishing top of the group doesn't guarantee an easier tie. UEFA have just ruined this competition, they really have.

a team who finishes 4th in their league and then 3rd in a 4 team league can then go on to be champions of europe.

It is a crap rule like, they probably think that they are strengthening the latter stages of the tournament but they are de-valuing it really! Would be a sickener to draw Roma in the next round after all the hard work to win this group!!

Garbutt needs to be given a 5 year contract
Kone will be a great addition to the squad, as will Oviedo
Ledson looked good, calm in possession, good range to his passing
Browning should've been played CB

Kids done well...Kone was good...great to see Oviedo.

Joel's first game in 9 months, but had two REALLY bad moments in the game.
