My lack of understanding?

OK pal, whatever. By all means I can accept that if you're busy then you don't have time to fully expand on what you mean... but to suggest that I'm at fault for not understanding a point that you say you haven't fully made is a bit, well.... childish, really.

Kone's ongoing performances will determine if he is competition or not. His mere existence is not enough by itself.
His sheer presence, finally being fit and being available for selection is enough for him to be competition though. Yes its only one game, his first start but after missing months of his career through injury and dealing with the mental challenge of sitting on the sidelines for so long, I think its only fair to say he is determined to make up for lost time and get his career back on track. That determination was evident tonight.

Ive not said he should start ahead of Lukaku but for you to dismiss a fit player as no competition is silly.
