Match Thread Everton vs Liverpool - POSTPONED

Strange, that must have happened overnight because it’s absolutely fine right now.

It’s not unusual for this country to jump the gun though, a little bit of ice and everything falls apart. A little bit of wind and the implications have cost people thousands. Shame really.
The implications of it going ahead could have been lives.

It is not absolutely fine right now round here.

Cost me a bit of time and money but I'm glad we aren't having a gofundme coz someone's Dad died on the way to the game today.
There’s no threat to life - it isn’t windy. It’s more likely someone’s dad would be hit by a car down Country Road than a tree falling on someone.

I appreciate you’ve planted your flag in the ground and decided someone is going to be crushed by falling bark - but that’s incredibly unlikely given the tame weather conditions. The match should have gone ahead.

Some take pleasure winding others up by saying the weather isn't bad enough to warrant a postponement. They are either joking or live somewhere else and had no intention of going to the game anyway. My eldest son just spotted a very large tree in the next road having just bent over double and then partially snapped. Never seen the like of it in my time. Just a light breeze, of course.

This morning I’ve travelled from outside London, into Euston and then directly to Lime Street.

No disruption, no delays. Both cities very busy.

There’s absolutely zero reason to postpone this football game.

Send him photos of trees that the wind has blown down all you like, it's not windy and trees are a figment of your imagination anyway.
As I said, that must have happened overnight. I hope there are no fatalities around the country at football games today, but given your insistence, I’m expecting numerous deaths at each ground. Will keep a keen eye on it.

None at Goodison thankfully. Sorry you've have a wasted journey but not sorry no blues died today. If the game against Leicester had been called off 20 years ago due to similar strength winds there's a fella sat at home with his family today instead of them having to go through their lives without him.
