Key points for me if we are to stand ANY chance:

• Oviedo must not start the game at right back, or anywhere else
• Get Cleverley back in. He has passion and will want to prove a point
• Barry needs to literally sit and protect the back 4 a few yards in front of what will be a make-shift defence
• Besic needs to start

.....funny just been chatting with Little Eggs and he's convinced Cleverley should play at RB. He's mobile, tenacious, will get forward and is playing against a previous club. I'm of a view that a RB should play RB but he might have a point.

I am starting to feel less negative now the derby is getting further away and kick off closer. I cant remember us playing so consistently badly for years and years though. Miracles do happen I guess - just not to Everton!!

Poor Bryan Oviedo, just not been the same since the leg break. Carrying timber. Confidence shot. Pace / legs gone, not that he was fast to begin with. He cannot start at RB, would rather any of the young lads or even Baines, with Barry at LB.

Jacobsen came on after Hibbert got destroyed in the first half by Malouda

Gibson looked good against Southampton. United have got an equally slow midfield so he should have some time and space on the ball.

Just as we are struggling, Manchester United are spoilt for choice, with a good mixture of young and experienced players.

They could play Lingard, Rooney, Schneiderlin and Mata in midfield.

And two from Rashford, Martial and Depay up front.

It is going to be a defensive battle.

My prediction for the final; United 2 Watford 0.

I thought Osman and Gibson were gash against S'ton and although Oviedo was shocking against the **** he'll be fine at left back, it wasn't that long ago people were crowing about how good a replacement for Baines he was, shouldn't slaughter him for being played out of position by a clueless manager. He will also have at least one young defender on the bench in Connolly or Holgate.
