All we ask is that they put in some effort and look like a professional football team, you shouldn't need a manager to keep bollicking players every few weeks to not look inept.Do some of the team want it enough?

Without James:

Olsen
Holgate Keane Mina Godfrey
Coleman Allan Davies Digne
Calvert-Lewin Richarlison

With James

Olsen
Holgate Keane Godfrey Digne
Gomes Allan Davies
James DCL Richarlison

I fear for us, only way i can see an upset is if they rest Foden,Gundogan and De Bryune.

Hopefully a sending off in the first minute to Ederson and a penalty scored by us.... hold on then

The only way we can get something is if the players desire it. They just don't seem to be on it especially at home. Despite them supposedly having a great team spirit. We need James back too. Glass half full but I'm expecting a defeat anything else is a bonus.

Not a question of who will win for me, just how many? Our cup run ended when the draw was made. Won't even be close, no contest.

No James, No Doucoure, No Chance.

You can imagine the other club's delight if we pulled a major upset off. We're the mugs who have to take on City knowing we'll almost certainly lose. Even if we win there will be others having had a far easier route becoming favourites.

You don't have to beat the best to win the cup, that's just a stupid fallacy made up as some sort of consolation after getting a shít draw. Far better to let some other mugs beat the best while you beat a load of nobodies all the way to the semis.

We're the mugs ready to be smashed at the weekend and it's only the quarters.

I'm going for Everton 1 City 5

WE ARE GETTING BATTERED ON SATURDAY!! I just hope that we enjoy it, show some fight, score a goal or two (Their defence is not infallible) and get some confidence that we are able to compete with Man City... it'll show us how far we have to go. Imagine, we are 10 years behind them! They have won leagues, tried and failed in the Champions League, and are only now maturing in Europe. We have so so so long and so far to go still, but I just hope they give us some hope and optimism that we can get there one day!

I agree with you because thinking rationally about the game you can only come to the conclusion that we have little chance. However, this is football and every week there are unexpected results. I for one will get behind the team and hope they can pull it off. They have before so why not this time?

Of course there's always a chance, Marine beating Spurs was always on if it hadn't turned out as everyone expected. The best teams do well in the league but rubbish can win the cup - it's far more about luck and meeting them on a bad day.

Shocks happen but far more infrequently than ever before with squad strength coming to the fore. I'll be supporting them even when City get their fifth and ease off.

Middlesbrough, Swansea, Birmingham City, Portsmouth and Wigan have all won domestic cups and now are all now languishing in the lower leagues - often relegated the same season.

Tbh I wouldn't swap places with any of them. The league is were you have your true measure and can see how good you are. The cups can be no guide whatsoever.
