tbf when i think we win we wont. Remember losing home to reading, home to wigan, in fact there are loads of examples. So why not fluke a win?

Free spin. DCL and Richy can cause them problems on the break. 2-2 we win on pens. They are useless from the spot

Yes its Paddys day so early start :)

I just don’t think it’s a fair situation looking city’s resources compared to ours. If they had an integrity they would let us field 12 players to even the balance

We need to hope City have their eyes on European football and not the little old English Tin!? And possible get Carlo to introduce the (albeit Fascist) phrase...
"It's better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb."

Our big chance is if Citeh think that the Quadruple is on after last nights result. They get a bit complacent, rest a few and we keep it 0-0 until the 80th minute and Keane buries a set piece. The worst thing that could happen is we get a drubbing as everyone expects. Possible worst other scenario is Richy bags one in the first 5 mins and we try to hang on for 85 - that would be killer for all our nerves.....

Gary Lineker scoring his and Everton FC’s second goal against Manchester City FC. This League Division One match was played at Goodison Park on the 11th February 1985.

I have the same trepidations as many about this fixture because of who we face and we haven't really played well for a while.

That being said we play in the same league as them, we can defend valiantly and have a bit of quality to punish sides we haven't had in the past.

My assumption is we'll try and play as we did against them in the League but who knows. My feeling is if you don't have a midfield who are up to the task then disregard them, hit high balls to our tall striker with a great leap and have a player either side to try and get to the knock on.

Victory isn't impossible. A memorable win would be nice - we've had a few pleasant surprises this season.

Even thought we have been a disaster at home and really good away, I think being at home give us a slightly better chance ( don't know why ) game just depends on what city turn up, even if we play our best game of the season it doesn't matter if city turn up because they are absolutely boss

Man u kept it tight didn't risk getting caught on the break and looked comfortable they didn't do anything special, hopefully we can do the same .

If the considerably better team on paper could always be counted upon to win, we'd have notably better results this season, and if Everton's play were really THE WORST YOU'VE EVER SEEN, as we hear on this forum with some regularity, they wouldn't be playing footy at all by this point but rather slowly crawling along the pitch and pausing every ten seconds to vomit.
