For some reason our media seem to have to make out that foreign young players are so much better than our own English lads. We've gone through numbers 100-21 now and there have only been 5 English players mentioned, and 3 of those are bit part players who just happened to be at clubs like United and Liverpool. In a year that England dominated International tournaments at all age groups, only 2 of our stars from those competitions have so far earned a mention. Tomori, the Chelsea CB who played every minute of our U20 campaign is languishing in the high 70s, and Ryan Sessegnon, who actually played 2 age groups above his grade, came in at number 40. We'll see what the top 20 brings but I wouldnlt hold your breath. Bound to be full if Germans, Spanish and Argentinians.https://www.fourfourtwo.com/100-best-teenagers-world-2017
No mention of any of our talented kids so far in this list and we are down to the final 30. I think Kenny & Calvert Lewin are to old for it but the likes of Davies, Lookman, Dowell are all elligible
Note: Woodburn and ovie ejaria already in hte list for the r/s (despite the latter not getting past a few of our kids in the u20 world cup team).
to be honest i can see all ours being over looked and Trent AA in the top 10

Who’s the 2 centre backs. Probably play for spurs or Arsenal.feeney and adeniran on the bench for england u19s qualifier.
3 games this week so likely to start at least 1.
Trevoh Chalobah is Chelsea, he’s played alongside Feeney at U17s and was then promoted up an age, well built strong defender , looks a player. I don’t know anything about Tanganga from Spurs the other CB but the full back Reece James is also of Chelsea and was impressive at the Toulon tournament in the summer and can play CB.Who’s the 2 centre backs. So Feeney will have tough competition , but should start games alongside Chalobah. Positionally Feeney is a strange one in that he’s never played any other position than CB for us or England - all our other young CBs played other positions at some time usually full back , Galloway, Stones, Browning , Pennington , Holgate , and Connolly and Kenny have played a number of positions across the back four. Even when he was breaking into the U23s from the bench he was coming on at CB with Connolly moved to full back to accommodate him , I wonder if he’d have come on against Lyon if he’d played full back sometimes. While he’s definitely a CB it’s just something that may cause him to miss opportunities in the future.
P.S England beat Faroe 6-0
Yeah he’s looked fine enough, not scared to take the ball forward and if it opens up he’s happy to keep going.I know he's a defend first, throwback CB, but how is he on the ball the times you've watched him? It seems that is almost a requirement for young CB's these days?
Unless Scotland have an excellent group at that level, it’s mad he’s on the bench.Hornby came off the bench and scored for Scotland u19s in their qualifier today

If he was at Liverpool or Man Utd, he would probably already be in the un21’s.
Maybe I’m wrong but there seems to be a lot of bias at your level, depending on who you play for.
Indeed, he’s played at this level last season. I saw a clip on my phone last night of Hornby’s weekend goals, sorry couldn’t copy it, the first was a powerful shot that the GK probably should have saved. The second was a towering back post header which he made look easy . It reminded me of Fellaini and the goal he scored for Man U against Wigan in the Cup when he battered Callum Connolly aside. A bit different Hornby doing it against an 18 year old defender but since he was moved up front he’s certainly got a good goalscoring ratio and uses his size well , 6 ft 3 .I think with him its maybe cos he's missed so much football over the last 6 months and they also have another 2 games coming up in the next week. I expect he'll start at least 1

I think that was Ellis Simms , must have come on as a sub but haven’t seen a team sheet. Mampala was the No9 who set up the first goal...the boy in CM did brilliantly pinching the ball and setting up the 2nd.
